Stopped working after only a couple of months. I haven't had this printer for very long. It does deliver on one of its promises: it's very good on ink. In fact, that is why I bought it in the first place. Ink is terribly expensive, so a printer that helps in this regard can pay for itself. However, the paper often jams. I would say that about 1 in every 100 pages will jam, which is a nuisance, particularly when you print as much as I do. Recently, the problem has only gotten worse. Is it any better then other color printers It seemed to print ok. Is it any better then other color printers? I'm not sure. I only gave it an OK because we first hooked it up to a single computer. When we went to network into our server it would not network. Our IT took about 2 hours to try and get it to hold the IP address. This Brother works better than either of those machines in my opinion I had an Epson & an HP. The HP I had for a long time before I got the Epson. Both companies wanted to sell you ink at the same price the AIO was. Talk about greed. The one thing I will say about the HP is it did last a long time. S-L-O-W and finicky. I'm seriously considering returning this thing. It claims a print speed of 10-12/minute; I'm getting maybe 3/minute in black and white. My 20-year-old HP Laserjet 5P does that well. It had to have its ink cartridges re-inserted "firmly" today -- 2 days after setup. They worked fine yesterday, so I don't know what's going on. Brother is Far From Perfect I have not had a good experience with Brother right from the very start of this purchase. My first Brother printer and the most I've ever spent on a printer and this Brother MFC-J985DW XL Work Smart All-in-One arrived at my home defective! Just how good the printer is when it all works, I can't say. Also, I don't have a high opinion for Brothers service department. I haven't been provided with an exact date for replacement.
