The setup on a USB cable was quick and easy. Once untethered as much as I wanted it to work, this printer had to be returned. The setup on a USB cable was quick and easy. Once untethered, the printer found his wifi network easily, and I thought I was done. Duplex printing is great. Duplex scanning a bit slow but works. Print quality a bit pale, but sufficient. Speed is awesome. All good. I moved the printer three feet to its final resting place... and the fun began. Could not find a wifi any longer even though the previous p... read more

The price shouts junk Purchased Xerox products because I thought Brother products were junk. Because the price is so low, I gave this printer a try. Much better than Xerox. Faster first paper out, more quiet, terrific print, better paper handling. Had problems setting up because I use MAC addresses for security which is not covered in instructions.

ADF Scans Crooked and Duplex Scans are Sloppy Here is what I liked. The printer is fast. The printer has a small footprint. The single-pass duplex scanning is super fast. Here is what I hated. The single-pass duplex scanning scans through the page -- detecting both sides of the page at once. So I was unable to get any clean 2-sided scans. Each side of the scanned page had some dark and fuzzy spots where there were text or graphics on the opposite side of the page. Also, most importantly, the ADF scans are crooked. I bought t... read more

I am a Brother Keeper My MFC-L2740DW was delivered by Amazon as promised on Feb 6, 2015. It installed fairly easily on this Dell Inspiron 3000 series with Windows 8.1. I installed it "LAN using a temporary USB connection" from a download of the full installation package. (It worked with a 16' USB cable, although a max of 6' was advised.) I didn't need to hunt down an IP address, sub-mask, router name or password. All of that was found automatically. Not sure, but I believe the supplied DVD likely has the same install version... read more

I love the printer but I want to warm you I bought this printer on Amazon. I love the printer but I want to warm you. I bought an extended warranty with the seller I purchase it with. I had a problem when the machine was brand new. After I ran the first test page the ink was getting lighter after the first page. I called Brother and the end result was I had a defective drum. Brother said that the drum was not covered under there one year warranty. They wanted me to buy a new drum. I ask Brother if I had purchase the machine ... read more

Stay Far, Far Away from this POS Let me start by saying I'm a IT professional that has been working in the industry for over 25 years. I've worked with multiple printers and I can say without any hesitation that the Brother MFCL2740 wireless printer is the biggest piece of crap that is out there. Why? Every time you shut off the printer for lets say, saving energy instead of it sipping electricity everyday (which btw it adds up with this printer), it FORGETS YOUR WIFI ACCESS INFO. So each and every time you have to reassign ... read more

Competes with HP Laserjet well. So easy to connect to wireless, download driver on Mac and it took about 5 minutes to be printing, and my wifi password is 27 characters long ;-). Also, for letter size paper (8.5X11in.), the printed doc stays in the printer out tray without requiring that you extend the small support piece. This is not the case with my HP LaserJet printer. Also, the printer is faster and quieter than my HP LaserJet. It is so fast that I was sitting there waiting for it to print when I realized that in the 10 ... read more
