Those who print envelopes-look elsewhere. Specs good, prints nicely, quickly and reasonably quiet. Software configured easily and offers good control. My main gripe comes when printing envelopes. The manual feed is limiting so when printing envelopes or using the straight through path, this is going to cause you to sit there and manually feed each one. Imagine printing 100+ envelopes, feeding each one and clicking for each of those actions. If there is an easier way I have not discovered it yet. I do like the printer overall... read more

DON'T BUY A BROTHER PRINTER, LOUSY TECH SUPPORT I HAT BROTHER!!!!! I'VE BEEN ON HOLD WITH TECH SUPPORT NOW FOR OVER AN HOUR. I WAITED 35 MINUTES TO BE TRANSFERRED TO SOMEONE WHO CAN HELP ME, AND NOW I'VE WAITED 35 MINUTES MORE SO FAR.
Was surprised how much better this one works Got this after older Brother MFC lost its Ethernet connection. Was surprised how much better this one works. WIFI connection to ipad and iPhones was seamless as well. A couple months in use and going strong.
It was not like that before My wife and I bought this printer because when our other Brother printer printed, a very strong (ink?) smell would come out of it. It was not like that before, so we assume this happened when our toddler stuck something into the slot the paper prints out of. We bought this printer to replace our printing needs, and the same smell oozes out of this new one for some reason, but not quite as strong. The machine is purely a fax receiver most of the time. all other functions are hit or miss.

Plan on an hour of your time with technical support. So far I'm not overly happy with this company. The printer loses connection to my Mac most of the times I go to use it. After 40 minutes on hold with technical support at about 2pm PST Wednesday (and an annoying operator asking me to please hold every 30 seconds!) I was told this was a printer firmware problem due to the latest Mac OS update (10.10.4) that they would be updating in about a month. If I didn't print at least once every week or two the cartridges would become useless because they dried out or software changes Before this printer, I had color printers, both HP and Epson because I occasionally printed out photos. That was an expensive proposition.
