The Printer is great but the bundled Paperport software was very disappointing The printer works great, I don't use the fax end of it but I have tried printing envelopes and it works fine other than a small crinkle on to beginning of the envelope. I tried quite a few times to install the paperport software that came with the printer and it wouldn't load properly. I contacted the company and I was advised that their software was not supported by them and that I should contact Brother instead. However I was offered to upgrade ... read more
TERRIBLE! WIFI Is completely unreliable. After 2 hours on phone with brother support a senior support rep told me "its a known issue" and there is nothing he can do to make it print. SERIOUSLY? YOU GUYS MAKE PRINTERS. CORE CONCEPT, THEY SHOULD PRINT.

NOT ideal for a home office This is a nice printer for home use, especially if you have kids in school who need to print up reports here and there. The scanning is good quality and it is easy to copy / print 2-sided pages, make labels, or print envelopes. The drawback is it is not that great as an office printer. I am a consultant, who a few times a month must print up a multiple copies of multi-page documents. This printer cannot handle the load. everything is great, except printer doesn't wake from sleep properly; NOTHING fixes this as far as i can tell. UPDATED 05.05.15: i returned this printer because of the wake problem. basically, i couldn't print to this printer without having to reboot it first, which i believe is completely unacceptable. second, after trying everything, i decided to bring the printer back to its 'factory settings' -- oddly enough, the printer interface only allows you to do this for *network* settings, not just a single 'reset all settings' b... read more
advanced duplex with meh software So far it's a very solid printer, scanner, copier. The software is a little simple and old, but it works. Advanced duplex on scan and copy is the real money shot on this printer. I don't use the fax functionality.
Wireless function mostly nonfunctional. This printer's wireless function is dismal. Both for printing from a MacBook and from devices using Airprint. Sometimes it will connect, but most of the time it is offline. Going through Brother's rather lengthy (and poorly designed) troubleshooting website leads to no improvement.
