Time to change vets!!!! I called to get my dog in for a semi urgent problem (which required immediate attention and sedation for a procedure) The receptionist was rude and said they would try to fit him in but didn't know how long we would have to wait and when I explained he was in pain and breathing hard she lacked both empathy and kindness. I was told maybe they could work him but my office visit would be up charged. Seriously? This place used to be great but after 14 years I'm tired of never seeing the same vet twice,... read more
I had been going to Midland for 7 years with my loyal dog without issues, but only for essentially "well-visits". They surely know how to do the routine. My dog unfortunately got hit by a car and had to spend an overnight at an Animal Hospital. Except for stitches on his face, he was out the next day with no internal bleeding evident. I decided I would go to Midland to have them remove the stitches as well as have a look at his back leg, which was obviously causing him a bit of pain even 8 days later (the hospital took n... read more
Very bummed to have to write this. My Maltese has been going to midland for 9 years. For the past 2 years she has had on and off ear infections that would not heal. She would be put on antibiotics and a week after finishing the meds she would be miserable all over again. Not only was her ear messed up, she would also have skin problems. Same thing. Changed her diet, nothing different... Infection would just continue in her ear. Not once did they offer to take a culture from her ear. Frustrated, I went to another vet.... read more
We recently moved to SD and heard about them from my incredibly caring dog walker. I was mostly happy the staff are caring and the facility is super clean! Two weeks ago my dog past away from what they thought it was pneumonia... The doc was super caring but when I look back I think if she had put some facts together my guy was with me today.... My dog had breathing issues due to his smashed face and infrequent seizures otherwise he was very healthy. I voiced my concern several times but yet the doc took the safest root givi... read more
We have been taking our pets to Midland for over 5 years and have sent multiple friends and family there as well. At first, we were very happy, the staff was nice, vets were excellent and the prices were fair. Unfortunately, over the last year or so things have gone downhill and we have had multiple bad experiences. The vets are still good but the prices have become ridiculous and the front desk staff very rude. Most recently, we were charged for a service we did not request and charged an unreasonable fee for it. When quest... read more
Just got sold. Spent $230 today for my dogs skin issue. They gave me two sets of pills, a shampoo, and some eye drops. I could have saved over $60 by purchasing the medications online. For having two dozen employees the service sure sucks. I need a new vet. They are really amping up sales to pay for that new fancy building. I preferred the old mom and pop place across the street.
Took my 10 month old Lab to the vet to receive a booster shot for his rattlesnake vaccine. Other places with mobile clinics administer booster shots and whatnot without charging for a vet exam so I assumed that I could just go and get the shot. Not the case. First I had to wait over an HOUR! (and I had an appointment) with a very active puppy to see the vet. There is wide open waiting rooms without an easy way to separate your dog from others. So it was very difficult to keep him calm. We tried the outside area but again, ... read more
Every time we've been there we didn't feel like we were getting provided good service. It always felt like they were "finding" something wrong where we should buy this or that. Or come back for a follow on visit and charge another office visit fee. Not knowing anything about what goes on with our pet, I wish I would feel comfortable going to the vet.
I always have to wait 20-30 minutes. One of our cats, 9 years old, was seen there and was diagnosed with kidney disease. We kept her going for a few months but she passed in December of 09. This past month, I took our other 2 cats, 10yrs and 4 yrs, for just a check up. I was reluctant to administer distemper shots but the vet tech assured me that is was routine procedure. It's been two weeks and both cats are having some very adverse reactions. They are just no the same as before. We are going to another vet tomorrow ... read more
