It's definitely aesthetically pleasing and director was such a pleasure to work with.
The administration is not great. Their lack of support of the med techs and other staff is terrible. They have been severely understaffed for months. They have gone through two chefs and the kitchen staff is nonexistent. The food quality has gone down tremendously. The executive director is not up to the task. There have been bed bugs on the upper levels that have not be handled properly. The incredible med techs staff then have managed to keep are over worked and under paid. There has been a lot of turnover in staff (i think this is the 4th executive director in a year). When first moved in, staff was super attentive and meals were great. Quality has gone down in all areas. Billing is a nightmare as well. You cannot get a clear statement of charges. Due to these issues, at the moment, I would not recommend Mirabella to others looking for care for a loved one. Especially if the elder is stubborn and particular.
Instead of letting you know that your loved one is struggling and showing signs of a serious medical condition they prefer to let them languish. The director, the district manager ( who comments on here that they are ‘residents first’), and Human Resources will completely ignore you despite multiple calls/emails. We toured Mirabella Living & Memory care; it was very dark and old. We chose another community because Mirabella wouldn't have been a good fit for my loved one.
I would want others to know that we had major issues here. The day of the move I checked her out of rehab, I could not leave because the facility did not have doctors orders. They had a week to get these and we had to wait around for 5 hours. Once we got her to the facility, the rehab place did not release medications, I had filled paperwork out for all of that weeks before. So she had no medications when we got there. She could not get a mailbox key for 2 weeks so she had no access to her mail. My mom was told by one of the... read more
My mom moved and didn't get the therapy services she needed for a week. They came out and did their assessment, accepted her, and then didn't have any of the paperwork ready and we waited five hours with in my sitting in wheelchair. Finally, we got her in and it took an hour to get a caregiver to come help my mom. A few days later, my sister was there and a comment was made by a caregiver that if she couldn't sit up on her own, she shouldn't be there at all. At first (March 2019) I would have given 5 stars. Today I am really irritated with this place The food is really good here but the care staff has not a clue what the left or right hand are doing!
This is the worse senior center I have ever seen!! Danagerest practices. They leave their residents at stores, doctors etc alone for hours and hours, some residents not able to be alone like this, panicking. When r they going to be picked up? Where do they wait to be picked up? What door did I come in? How do I pay for my items?
