I am the shipper. I am the receiver. Montaway was unable to reach me by telephone when the driver arrived. The driver knocked on the wrong door and also I was napping. So Montaway called my 90 year old parents in CA at 7AM and threatened storage fees for the vehicle, causing them panic and unnecessary disruption of their sleep. The driver was great. Dispatch...not so much.
Got quote, accepted, got confirmation, okayed date and time day before, set up delivery address packed, and loaded to be at 300 mile delivery point. 1/2 hr. AFTER pickup time carrier texted me that Montway had cancelled my transport. THAT IS VERY POOR SERVICE , bad business practice and shoddy treatment of a customer.
Disappointed that the price ended up being higher than the quote.
Rude driver
Did not schedule pickup until 2 or 1 day before scheduled pickup. Wanted to charge me several hundred dollars more (3 or 4 hundred, I don't remember exactly) to place a priority to my order. I told them that I might have done this if I had know about it when I first placed the order and especially if I had know that they would not schedule the service until 1 to 2 days before. Great, but jacking up the price ALOT!
No response, no nothing totally unprofessional - laughable at this point
I am still waiting to have my shipper assigned, and the pickup is supposed to be anytime between today and the next three days. So needless to say, I'm a little stressed about this. When I contacted customer service 10 days ago, I was assured my order was being handled in the ordinary course, and that my route is a very common one. Yet here I sit with no knowledge of when my vehicle will be picked up. I got quote by email. My quote has discounted price, but found it out I can't get discount price because ocean shipment. Even it was the system error, they should provide me discount price. Really disappointed.
