It is clean and cheerful. There is no doubt that the people enjoy living there and are well cared for. There is a wonderful respect for privacy and independence, while at the same time providing safety and needed care. We were pleasantly surprised to find a place where we felt so comfortable.
Atria Vista Del Rio was a good place, but basically the residents had to be self sufficient. Otherwise, it got costly to add more services. Everything was good here, but it just was not a good fit for us. The resident is no longer at this facility due to that.
The food is great and the fact that dad is in a safe environment is a five. The fact that he is eating and in a social setting is great. The one thing that we have not figured out is the medicine thing. The way they medicate is very cumbersome. They have to count every pill if he leaves the facility. The lady from A Place for Mom in Albuquerque is wonderful and she helped me tremendously and she followed up with me. Brent Carson is her name.
Atria Vista del Rio has been wonderful to work with. They are helpful, friendly and very accomodating. My father is adjusting and enjoying it more all the time.
I just think that for the move in process, it would be nicer if there was someone who managed it; like if somebody new comes then there is one employee who sees them and keeps checking up on the person for a couple weeks.
The staff have been very kind, and helped make the transition to independent living a smooth one. The food is excellent as well.
It has been pretty good. My only complaint is that they were going to have someone show my loved one around, but they have not. She is in her room too much. I think she is afraid of getting lost. The facility is pretty big. Other than that, It has been a good experience. The facility is really clean. Everyone is very friendly and kind. I can't rate the care services because she is in independent living.

Everyone from the receptionist to the manager and nurse at Atria Vista del Rio has been extraordinary in the care and organization of the placement of our Mom. Their loving-kindness helped Mom through a difficult time of change at the age of 89. We couldn't have accomplished a seamless change without Carol Thornhill and her staff! Our entire family highly recommends Atria Vista del Rio.
A beautiful place. Clean, attractive and welcoming. Aunt loves her studio.
