Been a member since 2018 and I've never had a bad experience with this location. Carefree location is closer but I drive a little farther here because it's exceptionally clean, all the equipments are spaced out well, and it's never really that crowded which I love.

Business response:

Hi, Susan. Thank you for taking the time to submit a review, we really appreciate it! Thanks, Mountainside Fitness

Resolved - Corporate manager finally contacted me by phone and we worked out a compromise. I am pleased with the solution and wanted to let you all know. In all fairness, until this fiasco, I have enjoyed the gym. I hope to continue to enjoy the gym.

I joined when all the other gyms were shutting down as I appreciate the loyalty. I have brought up one issue but was told it's a corporate issue and I have no way I know of to reach them. Myself and many other lifters that use dumbbells that are over 80lbs would strongly request those be set high on the rack not low or staggered. Lifting and lowering those in a leaning position invites back injury! Many/ most gyms I have been to over the last 30yrs do this. Other than this the only improvement is you need more 45 plates n... read more

Mountainside Fitness is a great gym chain in the valley and the Happy Valley location is the best one I've been to. The gym staff is friendly, welcoming and helpful and the facility itself is always clean. The classes that I've been to here have all been challenging, engaging and, dare I say, "fun"?! I love that my monthly membership gets me access to any valley location! Other gyms you have to pay a LOT extra for that perk. I pay $35/month and it's been well-worth it. Love this gym!

Business response:

Hi, Ryan. These words go a long way, it motivates us to work even harder, thank you for the review! Thanks, Mountainside Fitness

It is very unfortunate, what Mountainside Fitness is doing to their customers. I spoke with Mountainside to Cancel my membership, which a representative confirmed. However, despite of them stating it is not a contract, calling them to cancel is not in their policy and you must go in. This was in March, when COVID pandemic hit. Therefore, I did not go in. Mountainside Fitness, is trying to state that although the pandemic was in March, they were still open Therefore, they are holding that I should of come in despite my own me... read more

Membership services is a big fraud over here. When they reopened center in May/June, I have requested to cancel my membership on phone, and I was advised to come in person. I visited center, requested cancellation due to COVID cases growing in AZ. I have been told my account can be kept on hold with no charge until I decide to return, I accepted for that. But they have charged twice, one in June and one in September. I cant able to reach out to them as Center was closed again in Jun/Jul. When I tried to reach out to them in ... read more

Disappointed. I stopped in back in June after being debited for monthly fee of around $85. I was a little shocked because gyms had all been closed and I have not been getting billed. I found out the gyms re-opened but I did not receive notice that I was about to get charged nor had been to the gym in months. I stopped in to cancel my membership. I informed the gentleman that I had taken a large pay decrease and my wife was now out of work due to the Covid 19. He told me because I had not stopped in earlier and canceled the m... read more

SOMEONE DELETED MY REVIEW. INTERESTING. I canceled membership in February 2020 and was advised that would be the last payment. Come June, my card is attempted everyday and declined. I call June 8th, left a message and woman returned call 20 min later. "You don't owe anything I'm not sure why you're seeing that. If it happens to go through let us know and we'll refund it. It might be ABC Financial." So I call ABC, "no not us, call Mountainside." My card is attempted everyday for over 10 days straight so I call back June 18th ... read more

I joined last spring. Loved it. Great classes and facilities. I frequented 3 of their gyms. 5 stars. But my review now isn't 5 stars and here is why. COVID hit. That sucks. I get it, things right now are crazy. It must be really challenging to have a gym and reopening during this crisis. I don't want to criticize. Indeed, I haven't gone back. I just wanted to continue to freeze my membership. 4 phone calls where someone would "call me back" and an email that was never responded to. I was transferred to the assistant manager ... read more
