The Worst refinance i've ever experienced! I initiated the loan process in August and finally as of November 15th I cancelled the loan. Lack of communication with where we were in the process was frustrating. After a month of trying to get a subordination agreement done I gave up. The other company dealing with the subordination agreement said that Jake and his team failed to provide the required documents. This loan process was a huge waste of time and I will never use 1st Mortgage Direct again

Communication was poor, condescending and often wrong. My initial contact with the first representative was very good, Michael was pleasant and patient and professional and walked me through everything and was extremely responsive. When Michael left and Eric took over the experience was night and day different for the worse. Had I known I would have this experience with Eric I would not have chosen Mutual of Omaha.

Took longer than should. Missed deadlines. Had to resend things multiple times. And now being told the money out of pocket for title company was figured right and want me to pay $410.

The first guy we had got fired half way through loan process. Eric came on board. He was rude and brash and wouldn't listen to anything we said. Then a week before closing he goes on vacation and never said a word to us. I called for two days before getting his assistant who told us he had left. Our realtor finally talked to someone at the top who moved things along so we could close. It was 3 days later than original date. The whole process was a nightmare.

I think Jake did fine but his team was lacking a sense of urgency and commitment to the client. The closing people you used at first called Simplicity or something similar was totally unprepared to do business in Florida where I'm located and almost caused you to loose the Loan.

After contacting four different lenders, I got in touch with Matt because of a Costco member benefit on my home refinance. He was able to quote me a better rate, lower closing costs, and restructure our home loan to get the most out my wife and my credit scores. Not only did he blow the other lender's numbers out of the water (partly thanks to the Costco perk), he did it on the first go around. To have been more knowledgeable in your understanding of what would be required from the lender and get it from us the first time around. To have been aware of the required fees or ratios needed from this lender so all required payoffs or payments would have been given to us upfront as we were deciding which company we would choose to refinance with.

Rob Ferger was fantastic at responding to my inquiries at first. This was the main reason I decided to continue with the application process with FMD. I was even willing to pay more because of Rob's customer service. The moment I submitted an application, the responses slowed and the communication was AT BEST sporadic and incomplete.
