NEVER GOING BACK I took my dog to board here while I was on a trip for work. I chose Overland because my dog was being treated for some gastrointestinal issues and needed medication on a regular basis. When I came to pick him up, they gave me back ALL OF THE MEDICATION that I had left with them to give him. He got zero meds for three days. I can't begin to express how outraged I am. Please, do NOT trust this place to give your pet medical care. I will NEVER go back.
My wife and I have been taking our dog to Overland for many years now. We mostly board him, but he got his shots and veterinary care there as well. Gordon (our 8 year old "pup") had a really bad kidney infection (he wasn't drinking or eating and had very little energy) , so we took him to Overland. They ran tests and had him for the full day. He was on i.v.'s for medications and hydration. When we came to pick him up, the Vet told us that his fluids were dangerously low. She said that Gordon needs treatment overnight and it ... read more
This animal hospital is a joke, they have lost all of the people who were there when we first began coming in. The front desk staff is incredibly rude, I was hung up on 5 times. When I came in, the woman who was on the phone didn't even make eye contact with me and when she finally got off the phone she shoved a clipboard at me and pointed to the seating area without saying a word. When we were finally able to meet with the vet, they sent us to another hospital because they could not meet our needs, and they STILL charged us... read more
One star is as low as I could go or it'd be less. Between us we had 5 dogs that needed shots and other services so we went here because it was close and reviews were ok, well that will never happen again. First and foremost was payment! Money! Money! Money! Money! We then had an emergency with one of our dogs and we thought they'd help, we were wrong. We got there just after close (even though doors were open and people were there) and were told "Sorry guys, good luck." The vet was less than 20 feet away, made eye contact, ... read more
I used to like this place but it now it feels is all about the money... everything that they can find to charge you. I will not be bring my dogs again.
We've been bringing our dog here for 1 year. Every appointment we've had has been great until recently. Our dog needed to get her teeth cleaned. The vet quoted us a price of $350 - $700, but said she would seriously doubt it would go over $400. I don't have a lot of money, $400 would be a stretch but I could manage. The vet said the large range in prices is because they can't know what kind of work will be needed until they check the dog's teeth. I said ok. although it seemed strange that they couldn't just check my dog's ... read more
It was hard for me to decide the number of stars to give Overland, as we have used them for both boarding and vet services and we had a different experience for each. Boarding: We boarded our boy at Overland over Thanksgiving week. I was nervous as it was because he's so distraught when we leave him in an unfamiliar place. He was never boarded before. When we dropped him off, we asked to see the room he was staying in, and was shown by some worker, who really quite honestly, seemed to hate her life. She didn't crack a sm... read more
I wrote another 5 star review a few years ago (2009), and granted I still feel this facility is lovely but there has been Vet and several staff changes in the boarding facility. Even though my dogs are fully vaccinated from a very reputable vet in Littleton Overland is now requiring you to have fecal and bordetella every six months. Overland WILL NOT accept vaccination records from another vet. My vet does a one year bordetella injection and Overland requires you do another six month bordetella vaccine on top of the one year... read more
Business response:
Dear "Demoray" Thank you for your comments ! We will accept vaccine and fecal records from any qualified veterinarian. Our policy change to increase our fecal requirement (like other facilities you interviewed) is to reduce the incidence of parisitism among our resort pets. It has been very effective and we have discovered many pets with parisitism that the owner(s) were completely unaware of. Likewise, the inreased requirement for the "Bordetella" vaccine is to decrease the incidence of Kennel Cough, which is generall... read more
I wish I could said nice things about this place, trust me, I really hoped that would be the case. Please keep in mind that this only reflects the pet resort at Overland, I have no knowledge whatsoever about the hospital's operations. Today, was my first time at Overland Doggie Camp and Care, and what a waste of a great facility! I call it a waste because my dog did not get to enjoy any of it! I left my pet at 9:30am, and throughout 5:30pm she was taken outside her room not even once. I take it the personnel forget they have... read more
