My husband and I were off to get married and go on a honeymoon for 2 weeks and were boarding our baby Rocky for the first time. We looked at about 15 boarding facilities around Denver - everywhere from Highlands Ranch to the airport and we knew that we would feel most comfortable having him at Overland and it was a bonus that they provide Science Diet food so they could provide his food (and weren't providing some cheap-o brand). I can't begin to tell you how happy and impressed I was with the service, staff, technician, and doctor I saw today at Overland. Not only were they compassionate, caring, patient, and overall wonderful with my dog; Dr. Stacey McVicker and Trudy, her technician, never made me feel rushed and even spent time talking about a small tangent that I introduced at the beginning of the appointment. I will never use another boarding place for my Jack dog ever again (if I can help it)! This place makes Bryan M. and I feel so much better about leaving our boy while out of town. I liked our previous boarders enough, but after leaving him at Overland, I realized how much better this place is. Web cams are a must, and thankfully, Overland has them. We kenneled our dog at Overland for the first time since adopting her three years ago from the Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue. Previously, we had always been able to leave her with family when we traveled. This christmas that just wasn't an option. The staff at Overland were organized, efficient, and responsive to our concerns. Wish my family doc had a place like this ! I was told by a friend that I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it. Man was he right. This place, like others have said, is like the finest healthcare facility in town, but it's all aimed at pets. Even their boarding area looks, smells and feels like a hotel and not an animal shelter, the way most kennels feel. Might be the ONLY boarding facility in Denver that allows you to board a new pet who has not yet gotten all of their vaccinations, and will even GIVE the vaccs while your pet is there! (Most boarding places require your dog to have all their vaccs at least a few weeks or more before they are allowed to stay there). In addition to being a boarding facility AND a vet (they will even take sick or injured animals and will give them their meds while they are there), they also provide grooming services. We have two three year old mini Aussie dogs and have been taking them to Overland their whole lives. We made an appointment for annual heartworm tests. Last year they were $98 with a tech only. This year they are $127 each. When I called a couple of vets nearby the prices for the same service, a basic blood draw and 10 min test, the prices were $43 and $52. Have been using overland animal hospital for years. Recently brought our dog in for a grooming appointment. She had a sebaceous cyst on her back and this was shown to the grooming team prior to dropping her off. When we picked up our dog, the cyst had been lacerated either by razor or scissors and was bleeding heavily. We brought our dog in to be seen by the hospital.
