Didn't think my rating could go down from 2 stars. The proof of clearing my account Dr. Schwartz mentioned arrived today and it's dated March 1. I have been calling non stop with no luck to even get the phone to ring - just a busy signal. I need confirmation that my credit score will return to normal. I was trying to buy a house before your "miscommunication" as you're calling it tanked my credit. With the only communication being through Yelp (wtf?) I have no choice but to air my grievances here or risk showing up in person... read more

Business response:

HI- To say that our business is "shady as hell" is beyond offensive. To infer that I am somehow associating my clinic with an organization that allows dog fighting to just drum up business is even worse! My staff and I work extremely hard to provide excellence in veterinary care and in no way would be affiliated with ANY kind of business that would participate in that. There was a miscommunication between the two businesses in regards to the bill, but you were NEVER responsible for paying it. Right after you were in, we... read more

Had a really terrible experience. I brought in my cat baba who was having behavior issues. Because of covid, we had to wait outside, which was of course understandable. I came early because they told me they would be giving me new client paperwork. I filled it out with my cat and gave it to someone who worked there personally. I kept waiting and waiting, and was starting to get worried about my cat potentially getting out because overland is a pretty busy street and this isn't exactly near her home. Also, being in a bo... read more

I took my dog to this vet six months ago. Dr. Schwartz was knowledgeable and nice. He gets 10 stars. He asked me to bring my dog again for follow up. It has been a nightmare to work with the front desk. They put you on hold forever. I needed to change an appointment and I called 5 times two days before my appointment, every time I was left on hold and no one helped me. Who puts a client on hold for over 10 minutes? It's sad that the doctor is actually great, but the customer service is very poor.

I went to my pre-arraigned appointment to be left in the parking lot until 30 minutes after my set time. All clients in the lot were really unhappy with the poor communication from staff. No greeting. Must text to contact them, they run you around with senseless questions by text so they can put you behind and they can take longer to get to you in person. I not able to get a reply after I explained by text that my dog was bleeding! No reply. They saw me leaving and finally said, "sir, did you have an appt?" Duh, did't I j... read more

Business response:

Hello - As the owner of Overland Veterinary Clinic, I appreciate all reviews, even the negative ones. We had a lot of difficulty with the service that we are using to communicate with clients last week and unfortunately it was not fixed by the time you were there for your appointment. We have tried numerous ways to expedite the handling of clients during this pandemic and the last thing that we want to do is waste your time or ours with inefficient ways to communicate. In the beginning, we only had the phone lines to depe... read more

Dr Schwartz might be a great vet, but this office is TERRIBLE!! Every time I call to book an appointment, I wait on hold for 20+minutes and can't get in to see my pets, since "they are always booked." Not only that, when I know what I need (deworming medicine), they say I need to see the doctor. Which fine, I have no problem doing. But when they are going to charge $80+ per pet (which I have 3) because I am not doing vaccines, is unbelievable. They also won't authorize the medication unless I have a visit. 2 years ago they w... read more

Business response:

HI- As the owner of Overland Vet Clinic I appreciate any and all reviews whether they are positive or in this case, negative. When constructive criticism is given, it helps us to improve our customer service. We all do our very best to provide excellent medical care and make sure that our clients' experiences are positive. During this pandemic, it has been extremely difficult to keep up with the client demand and also work within the guidelines of the Department of Public Health for Veterinarians. This is not an excuse,... read more

I have been coming to this place for years. I was introduced by my dogs daycare. I love Dr Schwartz but there's always an issue with front desk staff. A while back I specifically ask the girl not to give my dog a specific shot because of his allergic reaction to it. She forgot to mention it to the doctor. I was upset. I still kept going there because I like Dr Schwartz. Now with covid the staff seems worst. Yells at you on the phone. Made my wife so angry she said your dealing with the vet I'm not calling or going with you.... read more

Business response:

Hello- I'm not going to try and rationalize bad behavior in any way, that is never okay, especially in a customer service position. I will say that we have had to drastically cut back on the amount of patients that we can see each day due to the current situation that we all find ourselves in, and we are finding that the longer this lockdown continues, the less patient people are. I'm NOT saying that was the case when your wife (or you) called, but the receptionist you spoke with may have just dealt with one or more angry... read more

I want to preface this by saying that my one star rating has nothing to do with the level of care. I took my bunny here to get checked out for an appointment at 1 PM today and dropped her off following the covid 19 standards. When I dropped her off someone came out to get my paperwork and then a little later someone else came to get her. When he came to get her he told me that the vet would call me, but did not mention anything about how long it would take or if I should i wait there. I decided to drive home because I figu... read more

Business response:

HI- I am the owner of Overland Veterinary Clinic and after speaking with the employee who helped you with "Effy", she was very distraught that you thought she was being rude to you. Since it was your first time at the clinic, it sounds like there was some confusion between the communication you were getting from us, the vet clinic, and AHS, the compounding pharmacy. We are two totally separate businesses but share the parking lot. When you called the pharmacy to pay for the prescription, they advised you to knock on their... read more

I have been trying to get my pets seen for a while and have gone to urgent for unnecessary exams that could have been done at a regular vet office. Its very disappointing that when your trying to find a vet closer to home and you read all these reviews and get happy that you found a new vet and get told incorrect information by the front desk about walk ins but the vet you need does not work weekends and its a total Waste of time. The receptionist answer to every question is go to urgent care if you cant wait till the next ... read more

Business response:

HI ~ I am the owner of Overland Veterinary Clinic and appreciate all input about how we can improve the client experience whether in person or on the phone. At this time, it is an ever changing situation dealing with walk in appointments. Since we are very limited in the amount of patients we can see in a day, we can start the day accepting a few walk ins, but that can change if we get emergencies or difficult situations with already scheduled appointments. We never like to turn anyone away and I don't believe that you w... read more

I do not recommend coming here. I felt like it was a dream come true finding a vet so close to where I live. Unfortunately my dog was having stomach issues and I took him in and received tons of tests, food recommendations, etc which was extremely pricey and seemed unnecessary- especially when there were no results back to show what was wrong. Fast forward and I had to call three times and kept getting told it's not back from the lab yet to get the results of the stool sample. Only once I called and had to be rude which I ha... read more

HI - I am the owner of Overland Veterinary Clinic and would like to apologize for all of the frustrations that you have been dealing with at my business. We are desperately trying to keep everyone healthy and safe while also trying to navigate the current pandemic situation and see all of our clients. I am in no way trying to make excuses for what happened, because there isn't one, but we have never had to provide curbside service before and although we are improving with it every day, your dog's fecal sample must have b... read more
