Very disappointing customer service. You follow their procedure by parking in one of their spots then text them which spot you're in. The employees do not answer the text immediately. The staff help those who get out of their car to walk in even though it says "DO NOT ENTER" Tried to get their attention to no avail. No one answers their business phone, goes straight to voicemail. Finally after 40 minutes, a staff member comes to the car. Tell her that I was there first but, she says they text in first. I show her ... read more

S., we greatly appreciate you taking the time to speak with us and for allowing us to address your concerns. We understand your frustration and will use this feedback to work hard to improve the service we provide our clients and their pets.
If I were able to give a minus rating, I would. My appointment today was at 2:15. They came and got my dog at 2:45. Fine. They kept my dog for about 20 minutes, I spoke to the doctor, he recommended some medications, then the tech brought my dog back. Then the REAL waiting began. When they bring back your dog, they don't bring your bill and medications out...you have to wait for that stuff. At the two hour mark, I approached the door as had many of the other clients...most of us had been there between 1.45 and 2 hours. Ever... read more
What an absolute disgrace! I have been a long time patient here and it has turned into a Joke of a Vet's office. I called in this morning as my dog has a major skin infection that needs to be seen right away. Over the last 9 months, you can't get an appointment with less than 2 weeks notice. Dr. Schwartz and his team don't care about the health of their patients but rather booking as many preventative appointments and so they do not need to deal with sick animals. If you have any care or concern for your fur babies, you ... read more

Justin, we are sorry to hear that you were unable to seen sooner. Our number one goal is to offer exceptional care and service, so please know we take this feedback seriously. We have shared your comments internally. Please contact the hospital and ask for the Hospital Manager if you need any further assistance.
Best to avoid. Both myself and a close friend were told by the front desk and Dr. Louis Schwartz that their Parvo vaccine, Duramune Max Pv, does not have Thimerosal in it (a highly toxic substance). They emphatically said they have not used Thimerosal in 10 years, several times. This is a serious lie that has a big effect on weather we vaccine our puppy with them and potential health implications. As you can see from the attached and the link below, Duramune has both Gentamicin and thimerosal added as preservatives. It wou... read more
Business response:
Randall, thank you for taking the time to research vaccines for your pet and be a partner in your dog's health. The distemper/adenovirus/parainfluenza/parvo vaccine we give is made by Merck, called Nobivac. We do not, nor have we used Duramune Max Parvo vaccine. Our parvo vaccines have been combined with distemper, adenovirus and parainfluenza for years. Please call and speak to the Hospital Manager directly. Thank you.
I am complaining because I have been going to Overland Vet for at least 25 years with different dogs I've had. I do have a senior dog who woke up today with a problem - an open wound on her tail (she does take the flea pill). No appointment for 7 days - I think that's beyond ridiculous. The dogs I have taken there with loyalty to the office over the years include Mike, Spear, cat Gucci, Clyde, Katie, Angie, Arthur, and others. Answer from receptionist "Go somewhere else" Okay I will and never come back
Business response:
Vickie, thank you for your feedback. We apologize that temporary service operations impacted your recent visit at Overland Veterinary clinic. Due to current restrictions and limitations imposed by city and state ordinances, the usual service at our clinic may be impacted. We are working harder than ever to keep everyone safe and provide the very best in pet wellness. We love our clients and the pets we serve and we'd like to know more about how we can improve for next time. Please give us a call at (310) 559-2424 if you wish... read more
I had to wait a full hour in the middle of the afternoon before anyone even came to my car. The parking lot was a madhouse. The doctor (Dr. Forsythe) seemed nice enough and had a decent plan that surprisingly didn't include a bunch of unnecessary tests-- BUT he said he would come out and talk to me and give me his card and never showed. AND he said he cleaned my cats eat that was filled with black wax and it was still super dirty after the procedure and 2 hour total appointment time.
If you have plenty of time to waste then this is the place for you. I arrived 10minutes early for my appointment but they didn't see my pet until 20minutes after my appointment. It's great that they have you call from you car when you arrive but that doesn't work when all you get is a busy signal. Please invest in an additional phone line...
Business response:
HI- I apologize that you had to wait and I understand that getting a busy signal is frustrating. Unfortunately, getting more phone lines won't help the situation that we are currently in. These COVID circumstances make it very difficult to get people in an out in a timely manner. We have been trying many different ways of doing things, but the issue is that instead of being face to face in an exam room with each client, the doctors have to spend time on the phone instead. When running methods of payments, that too is don... read more
Dr Schwartz has been an utter disappointment. After years of bringing our dogs to him and tens of thousands of dollars paid to him he has left us completely stranded. Our 14 year old dog is having serious health issues and he doesn't return our emails or calls to either his office or personal cell phone. He is flat out ignoring us and we have always been gracious and professional with both him and his staff.
Business response:
Hello - If your dog is having "serious health issues" then you should have him/her evaluated at an emergency facility asap. The last time I show you were at our clinic was in July 2020 and that was NOT for anything serious. You crossed a line when you decided to message me on my personal cell phone to let me know that you know where I live, and to provide the name of the street that I live on with my family. That was meant to be a threat and for that reason, you are no longer welcome at Overland Vet Clinic and we will be ... read more
Overland has a couple of vets that are great. Dr. Schwartz is excellent. However, if they give you an estimate or a recommendation please do some thorough research first as they will be quite willing to steal your money from you. I did some research on the things recommended on my estimate and I went and got two other separate vet's opinions. I was stunned and quite angry at first, as I felt that this one vet at Overland was prepared to steal over $400 from me. All I am saying is, be sure to go over your estimate and bill wi... read more
