EXCELLENT General Store! This store has a great selection of beach attire, snacks, and beverages. In the back of the store you can get freshly made chicken and sandwiches. They also offer fresh coffee and a large selection of cold sodas. There's a cover outdoor area where you can enjoy a beverage or some ice cream with your kids. The staff is friendly and eager to help. The atmosphere is definitely "beach store". I found their prices reasonable in comparison to other stores.

Did I mention this store not only has a great selection of food, drink, sundry items plus gifts and everyday items - but it's super convenient to the beach and the resort areas surrounding!!

The general store is THE BEST spot on HHI! If you want the best breakfast (including fresh biscuits and gravy, crisp bacon, egg sandwiches, or Best Cinnamon rolls in America) the General Store is the only place to go. But it's not just about breakfast at the general store, because they have incredible fried chicken, ice cream, coffee, soda, and every adult beverage one could ever want. Overall it's a nice store and most of the food is good except for the sides. I'm going to say this as nice a possible. Please, please ease up on the garlic! The green beans and collards are inedible. In the south we season green beans and collards with pork, NOT garlic!

Great vibe and very nice employees. The stuff is very overpriced but still original. The old building is still cozy and very cool. I went there to buy candy and get some tourist attraction here and get some cool beach stuff for my family. But we ended up getting blinded by the price of this plastic. Nice place.

This place is great for its intended use of picking something up you forgot or grabbing a quick lunch of chicken tenders. However, it's crowded on the deck making it challenging to get in or out of the store at times. (Maybe put some umbrellas outside off the deck for people to sit at). It also feels like a gas station walking inside, very cramped. Soda and milk variety was limited.

We always have fun riding our bicycles to the General Store when staying in Palmetto Dunes. Either for breakfast or for supplies and ice cream, this is a well-run quaint and convenient shop for when you need a few beach or condo supplies. If grabbing breakfast here, they have a good special where you get two hash brown patties. It does not say this in the menu but they will give you two. We stopped by the store for the first time and I wasn't impressed that the refrigerated items weren't clearly priced. The freezer section by check out hardly had any flavors of ice cream, but, I was thankful they had a few ice cream options remaining...a Twix ice cream bar is better than nothing! I do give them points for a great front porch to sit in the shade for a few minutes enjoying the ice cream.
