They used to have the best breakfast sandwiches and fried chicken. Something has definitely changed in the past year. Not worth the stop.

After reading the great reviews we drove out of our way to come here to get some snacks and provisions before heading to our hotel for the night. It was about 4pm and I thought they would have some dinner options as the store was open til 10pm. Sadly, only a few breakfast sandwiches (presumably stale from having to sit under the heat lamps for hours) and a few pre-made boxed salads: boring iceberg, chicken chunks and shredded cheddar, were the only food that was available. We love the Palmetto Dunes General Store. Go hear for breakfast, candy, ice cream, bait, or just to pick up a nice T-shirt and cap. They have great, soft T-shirts and my favorite caps that are a must buy each time I am nearby. They have beer also as well as soft drinks.
The best ice cream on the island! We stopped here everyday and picked up everything from breakfast to souvenirs. The staff was excellent and everything is well stocked.
Cute store but way overpriced! $3 for a water, $3.50 for a tiny cup of ice cream. Cinnamon rolls looked great but were dry. Only went once out of convenience.
The customer service could have been more friendly. They don't like kids very much in the store.

Do yourself a favor and stop in to try the fried chicken. It was excellent and the mac & cheese is delicious. You know it's going to be good when there is a line for it at 1130 and there are lots of local workers coming here on their lunch breaks. It was great to have a Coke Icee after a bike ride. Bought a boogie board and some beach towels and they were reasonably priced. Staff were all friendly.
Great place to stop. Halfway between the Disney resort and Beach house. We come here for trinkets and breakfast or lunch while we are here. Great staff! Always helpful and friendly.
