My family has been coming to Palmetto Dunes for years and since the General Store was bought out it has gone down hill. It seems as though the family that bought it is very unhappy they did so. I have yet to see one smile, happy face, or hear a thank you with one purchase I've made this week. We used to make it a habit to ride out bikes up nightly to get ice cream and pick up souvenirs but not this year. I will no longer shop there with the poor service and constant stares while I shop. Been coming to this place for the last 3 years and since last year when the new owners took over, the staff has been terrible. There's only one friendly staff worker there that I've encountered. Seems like this place has gone cheap with different items in the store but the prices are still high.
Cute shop in the heart of Hilton Head with delightful staff and delicious donuts and self-serve ice cream! Stop in day or night and find something perfect for you and your family!
most unfriendly staff i've ever seen, comments on my own conversations. charged my daughter with anxiety the wrong price, she was too scared to speak up!!! AWFULL do not come here!!! stared at them the whole time they walked around!! shit.
Love to go here for lunch when we are in town. Every day they have a special and the chicken is good. You get a breast and 2 sides for 6.99 so it is much cheaper then fast food and a lot better. We like to watch the pickle ball courts while we eat.
They used to have the best breakfast sandwiches and fried chicken. Something has definitely changed in the past year. Not worth the stop.
After reading the great reviews we drove out of our way to come here to get some snacks and provisions before heading to our hotel for the night. It was about 4pm and I thought they would have some dinner options as the store was open til 10pm. We love the Palmetto Dunes General Store. Go hear for breakfast, candy, ice cream, bait, or just to pick up a nice T-shirt and cap. They have great, soft T-shirts and my favorite caps that are a must buy each time I am nearby. They have beer also as well as soft drinks.
The best ice cream on the island! We stopped here everyday and picked up everything from breakfast to souvenirs. The staff was excellent and everything is well stocked.
