I sold my company in February of 2022. I signed and sent Paychex the client separation form on 2-7-2022, and even referred the new owner to Paychex. Here it is a year later and they had a hold on my account so I could not get my W2's. They sent one email with the bill for the end of year w2's in July! 5-months after I sent them the separation form - that email went to spam....I just found it when talking to their representative. They sent my 401K payout to an insider ( I assume) who cashed my check and it took months and 100s of calls to get my money-back. Absolutely a joke of a company.
I will never again work with a firm that uses PayChex. The first time I did, their "agent" who was assigned to the firm was offshore and pretending to be in the United States. She seemed to be working with a few other people who just pretended to use the same name. I was never paid, they also entered the wrong information on my tax forms, and finally after about three weeks after payday--the owner of the firm had hand write me a check. Horrible. I had a service that was $58 dollars a month. I switched banks & forgot to notify them. They charged me $120 every time my card didn’t go through. They never called or anything. I call to get an update on W2 & I now owe $869.00… for a 59 dollar service
Illegal and frustrating. Cannot access paystubs.. Cannot get ahold of anyone on the phone and the home health agency I work for is no different…
Worst decision I have ever made in my career, going with this terrible company. I regret every moment since and cannot overemphasize, people, DO NOT HIRE THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY.
If I could give 0 stars I would. We have been trying to cancel our Paychex account for about 7 months now. we have to call and call and leave messages because we can never seem to get the person were supposed to speak with on the phone. When we final get someone on the phone they promise to make sure it gets cancelled but the charges continue to come out month after month and they keep contacting me to run payroll although it’s supposed to be canceled. Paychex had messed up the payroll reports for my small business based in Iowa. Not only they were uploading payroll reports wrong on my state's tax filing website, but they also were not mailing anything as a backup. As a result, we had to amend, pay additional penalties for not filing in time, and file payroll taxes on our own even though we've been paying Paychex to do that. We run a small trucking company and have used Paychex for several years and have had a number of issues. To start, pricing is very vague and tends to climb month after month with no explanation. Usually you can convince them to "discount" it but it is not easy. Second, they provide numerous "services" but do very little to actually help you utilize them.
