Can’t believe how easy it was to refinance. Thought this would be a nightmare like my purchase experience. Nothing could be further from the truth both the loan officer and processor were perfectly knowledgeable and extremely attentive. Can’t say enough about how surprised I am at the ease and overall benefits of this transaction!
Barry did great, hence the rating. He could only work with the info he was given. I had many issues during the refi involving my specific impending divorce situation, and that was difficult and often confusing, and it prolonged the entire process.

Jennifer Green is what made our experience great. When we were first granted our mortgage (through another company that was not Penny Mac) the process was dreadful. Meeting after meeting, documents coming in the mail, documents to pick up in person, meet at the title place to sign papers. It was time consuming, and stressful process. The reason for refinancing was to get my co-signers off, however originally they were only taken off the loan & not the title, delaying the process. Closing had to be rescheduled 3 times. It was not communicated that a blank check should be brought to the closing for money transfer purposes. closing disclosures changed again after closing. It's done now so I can put this behind me. My experience would have been better if I had gone with a different company. The loan team made me feel as if I was borrowing from them personally. This is the last time I will use PennyMac and I will not be recommending PennyMac to anyone in the future.
