They didn't send out the estimator and did not show up for the appointment or call me. I had reserved a moving date (3) weeks in advance. They somehow blamed me for the estimator not showing up and then told me they would not have space to move me on the requested date of June 29th. I had called to schedule a move.

Perry's never showed. They never called to cancel the appointment either. If a company can't even be reliable enough to keep an appointment for an estimate, then they definitely cannot be relied upon to arrive on time for a move. I didn't bother to follow up, as I knew I would want a different company. I called Perry's to discuss a possible move/storage, and set up at appointment to have the company come to my apartment to make an estimate the following business day.

This incident happened long time ago, however I was reminded of this experience as I prepare to move back to Md. I had hired them before with good results, but this time the long distrance move was a nightmare. I had hired them to pack, unfortunately they RUSHED that job using some unqualified packers who did not speak english. I was there and it was like a Three Stooges episode, unfortunately the joke was on me. Not so funny. In fact while "packing" a large painting they placed it on the floor. The quote was for $1100and we told them we did not want to see any hidden charges later on as we were warned from others this happens with moving companies. After the move, my creidt card was charged $1350 even though the signed contract read $1100. The movers did not take care with the furniture as many wooden pieces have damage now. I would not use them again. They were only hired to take apart, move and put thefurniture back togetheras we moved all the boxes in a Uhaul truck ourselves.

Issue#1: On the day of the delivery, the Perry workers were plagued by bees emanating from the pods. There are no bees in this area before or since the delivery. Also, I noted while unpacking that candles were melted. By 8/13, I had become very ill and reported to Rich Perry that the boxes and other belongings reeked of mold. I was unable to work. Rich visited and sniffed a closet and said it only smelled like new paint and drywall. Becoming more ill, I hired a Certified Master Inspector to collect/analyze samples for $850. ... read more

See above I really wanted to like this company but had some problems. The rating is C not lower because the owner tried to help make up for the problems but other problems were not addressed. I made it clear from the estimate onward that I had health issues and was going to need extra assistance--for which I was quite willing to pay. One of the three-man crew complained, banged up furniture and walls, and insisted that I work quite hard in assisting with unpacking items at the new home--even though I had made it clear that I... read more

I contacted Perry Moving because they came highly recommended by Angie's List and personally. I was told that one of the Perry brothers would come out to my home at an appointed time. The office called back to tell me it would be the other Perry brother that would make the appointment. In the end it was actually another person who came. Diana arrived on May 4, 2011 and went through our home and filled out a form estimating all the furniture, containers needed, and weight. I asked to schedule the move for June 20, 2011. The move seemed fine at first, until the items arrived. Be sure to buy the extra insurance if you go with Perry Moving. You are definitely going to need it. Moved a four bedroom house into a two bedroom house ten blocks away.

Horrible! My story is listed above. The person, David, who answered the phone misrepresented himself. He said he would call me back with an estimate but never did. He avoided my calls all day. When I finally spoke to Steve, the sales manager, he was rude and hung up on me! I called and spoke with David, who said he was a moving coordinator.
