BORDETELLA and MORE! I boarded my dog, Rocco, here 3 times in the last 4 months, usually 11-15 days each time. He was completely vaxxed prior to his 1st stay & has NEVER bit/attacked another dog or human. They would NOT honor the remaining 800+ reward points I had accumulated for all 3 stays. Total cost: $1733! Rocco was diagnosed with Bordetella, AKA Kennel Cough, by my vet' the next day. This was an additional $149.25 for the antibiotics & services. this place is a joke and only cares about how much money they can charge you!! went out of their way to not approve my chewy automated prescription for flea meds for my dogs. they wanted me to come to them instead when their vet was no longer even there!!!

I live in the vicinity of Pet Paradise, Ponce Harbor Dr location in St. Augustine. I've lived here 8 years and have gotten accustomed to hearing the dogs barking every mornin. I love dogs . Sadly, I've witnessed through hearing the employee who works morning shift 7am yelling at the dogs, even hearing an air horn!! This has been going on for months. If I could give no stars I would. My mom took the family dog there for weekend boarding as my grandmother is unable to let him out with no assistance as she is elderly and has a rough time getting around. My mom came to visit me at my university for my last college marching band parent preview day. She dropped him off on Thursday, 8/25 and explicitly said he would need a groom, a nail trim, and a take home bath. Much like a common cold in humans, canine infectious tracheobronchitis (kennel cough) is airborne and can be contracted anywhere. All our guests at Pet Paradise are required to have a current Bordetella vaccine, but just like the flu shot in humans, the vaccine is not always 100% effective in preventing it. Do you see any water or litter? No, I don't either. The food might've been dog food. My cats looked like they were in trouble. So I took them out of harms way asap.

Thank you for your review. Our litter boxes are on the bottom floor of our cat condos. The pets in our care are feed Science Diet foods and all animals have access to fresh water at all times. We would encourage you to come by and tour the facility to fully understand how things operate.
Pros: Front desk staff was nice, facility is spacious, cool bone shaped pool for the dogs, price is reasonable (for 5 nights and grooming we paid $270). Cons: Smells heavily of pet urine. Staff is impossible to get ahold of over the phone - out of around 20-25 calls over about a two week timeframe, we only ever managed to get through twice and my requests for call backs were never returned. I made a reservation to book a stay for my dog about a week in advance and they happily took the $190 deposit. A few hours before I was set to drop him off they called and said they were actually completely booked. Somehow they didn't know this when I booked or gave them money, but they figured it out at noon 2 hours before his drop off time. MY DOG HAS BEEN SICK for over a week! I brought my dog to Pet Paradise for a week, and she came home really sick. While there is always a risk when you allow you dog to be amongst many other pups, the people in the facility didn't bother to tell me she was sick (and she was very, very sick and still is). So either they neglected to tell me (which is probably the case, OR they didn't know she was sick-- which seems next to impossible, but is probably worse). She then spread the illness to my daughter's elderly dog.

Ok we are done with this place. Haven't been able to make a reservation the last 4-5 times no matter how early ahead of time I attempted to book. No one answers the phones and I understand that they are probably understaffed but no one returns calls either when you leave your information.
