Pool sweep wraps itself around the supply hose. Pool sweep wrapped/twisted itself around the supply hose line. This has happened several times. The pool sweep is locked in a knotted mess. I discovered this problem after several days away from home. the pool was lost 200-600 gallons of water. Contacted vendor. Because it was beyond the 30 day return time they would not help but referred me to Polaris. Polaris said it was possibly due to defective connectors in water supply line. Polaris would not replace the connectors. Refer... read more

Doesn’t work like the old one😩 Bag kept popping off! Had to use my old bad! Could not adjust it, had to pay someone to do it, and still did not clean well, This week quit working at all, but the old Polaris tubing on and worked for a while, then discovered a hole in the head float, and when it fills up with water won’t work. Very disappointed, our old model worked very well for 9 years! I am hoping the company will send new tubing and new head float, bout April 22 and can’t return 😩

It’s great, when it works and with daily maintenance I have to untangle the precision-length hose daily for it to do its job. Other than that and the issues below, it actually keeps my pool reasonably clean.I owned this unit only a few months and have been through three inline filters, two sweeps, and now my second backup valve. The plastic on my backup valve is split and prevents the sweep from functioning. I carefully inspected the plastic and there are no signs of it hitting anything and my pressure is at the lower end of... read more

JUNK, RETURNED I read the bad reviews but gave the 380 a try anyway since I had a Polaris 180 for years and it worked great until it died of old age. The new 380 was basically the same as the 180 but with some "upgrades" like belt drive, click on bag and updated look. Click on bag was a fail, it always falls off. In the 1 week I tried this model the bag always fell off, every time. And this 380 always sprayed water everywhere even though I had the RPMs and tail pressure set. My old 180 did not do this. This 380 would get stu... read more

DO NOT BUY THE 380. Its a bad design. I've adjusted the pressure flow rate, wheel speed, float positions and rear jet angles and my new 380 circles too much and ties the hose in knots till it stops working. The combination of its under water weight and 3 wheel design makes it turn and circle too much until the hose gets spun into a knot. The hose is stiff due to winter cold water and the 2 rotating joints just don't prevent twisting and then knotting of the stiff twisted hose. It seems as though its not heavy enough and the ... read more

Defective product; Initially poor response from Amazon, but corrected This unit never did work properly. Tires would stop turning and the unit would get tangled in its own hose. I progressively incorporated all the recommended fixes for the various problems, but would still, after one or two turns around the pool, have to deal with a tangled mess. I finally took the unit to a local Polaris dealership/service center. When they opened the unit to work on it, they found that the supposedly new unit I'd purchased was actually a ... read more

Polaris isn't what it used to be anymore I bought this sweep because I had owned an earlier version of it which had functioned reliably for well over 10 years. I replaced that older 380 with a Polaris 280, which lasted less than a year in service, and never functioned properly when it was in the pool. So, with one good Polaris experience (the original 380) and one poor Polaris experience (the replacement 280) under my belt, I gave them another chance, and bought this 380.When it runs, it works well, but it has a bad habit of... read more

Great Pool Cleaner Great product from Polaris. This 380 model is the updated version to our time-tested 280 which lasted more than 10 years. Don't believe the promotions for their latest Black & Grey sporty model. [The reviews say it is a clunker with performance falling miserably below this 380 industry standard work horse.] Reasonably priced belts and bearings available at Leslies or Amazon for long term, light maintenance, & dependable performance. Note: Requires booster pump and can take some focused attention in getting... read more

Not impressed with cleaning; supposedly new models have caulking inside that peels off. Cleaning efficacy is fair, but not great. It leaves untouched patches on the pool bottom unless it runs for an extended period of time. Does not clean steps well. Drive mechanism often jams with small bits of grit in the gears. Not hard to open and remove, but an annoying waste of time. Also, a few months after I purchased this supposedly "new" Polaris 380, I was cleaning out debris from the gears and found white silicone caulking at the ... read more
