Avoid at all costs! $1,200 bucks down the drain x2 I have owned 2 of these over the past 2 years and both times ended in disappointment. The first 9550 worked great out of the box but unfortunately, that only lasted for several months. Of note - we only put it in the pool when we need to clean it and then remove it from the water. Doesn't clean thoroughly I've owned this unit for more than 6 months now. I give this robot an F for cleaning. This robot comes with a pretty sizable collection basket. The inlet to the basket is about 1 inch by 12 inch wide. It doesn't allow the unit to pick up rocks.We don't own a rectangular pool, our pool has different curves and in ground. Worked well for a couple of month, then fizzled---waiting for Zodiac to respond The media could not be loaded. I bought this cleaner after much research in August of 2019. I like that it is electric, not requiring the pump to run, which greatly facilitates closing the pool. Expensive machine, cheap performance- JUNK! I have had a Nautilus Dolphin robot cleaner for four years and it just died, so I asked my local pool store for a recommendation and they recommended this Polaris machine and all I can say is, I am disappointed. The good: The machine is fairly light, the remote control is kinda cool, the filter is very easy to remove and clean, and the machine climbs the walls much better than the Nautilus, which only climbed halfway up the wall most of the time. Save your money ... seriously Where to begin? I'll keep it brief.I'm actually glad it has completely failed. I can now justify buying another cleaner. You can bet it won't be another Polaris. Feature Problems; Zodiac Support Lacking I really don't want to write a negative review of the F9550, mainly because as far as cleaning goes, it runs rings around the two Dolphins I had. However, there are features that simply do not work, and the support to deal with those problems is not there. Not a year round cleaner - I really tried to make it work Ok today I gave up and decided to move on from my 2 year old Polaris F9550. It still works and does a good job cleaning, when it is cleaning, but I find that I now work for the Polaris Pool Cleaner. I purchased it at the start of spring a couple of years ago and it worked great. Then winter came and I started to have a few issues. The unit would turtle over and not be able to right itself. 2nd Polaris cleaner that stopped working. Warranty not honored - BEYOND disappointed I’m beyond disappointed. This is my second Polaris cleaner. The first one lasted about 3 summers, the second didn’t even last 2 full summers. I bought the 9300 and after many visits for repairs, (the wheels continually falling off and the cable stopped working), I finally decided to upgrade to the 9550.
