Love it! I was skeptical...wondering if this would really be much different than my usual pool sweep (which I just purchased a new one). So, I ran my new Polaris pool sweep and thought my pool looked pretty good. Then I put this vacuume in and let it do its thing for the recommended time. I love the fact that I can control where the vacuum goes and then have it "lift" at where I am. When I opened it to check the basket, I could not believe how much stuff was in there! I had just used my sweep, and now this basket was pretty ... read more

Good investment - love it - not perfect. Overall we love our robot and consider it a great investment. The remote is something you can't live without if you have a scalloped pool. However, it is the most awkward and hard to use remote control I have ever used and doesn't seem to always get recognized by the unit. The only other complaint I have is the cord is constantly tangled. I would recommend the silt filter if you want to catch the fine stuff that settles in your pool each night. Once again, we love our robot and have n... read more

The filter is excellent to catch very fine dust particles I would have left a 2.5 star if there was an option. On an in-ground kidney shaped pool that has a taper from 3.5 feet to 9.5 feet, this cleaner did not work as well as I thought it would. The cleaner did not climb the walls as well as advertised. It barely scaled 40% of the total height before slipping back. The cleaner would not climb enough to the surface and I had to haul it up. Also, I found that once it was in the deep end it would not move back to the shallow s... read more

Works great. No regrets. We recently purchased a home wth a pool that measures 40x20'. I had no prior pool experience so my only clues were reviews. After doing some research for a couple of weeks I decided to order the 9550. I think it's one of the best investment I made. I run it once or twice a week and it works great. It picks up sans/ silt and palm tree seeds and tree leaves with no problem. After a windy day the pool tends to get full of leaves, so I drop it in and has no problem picking everything up. Like other revie... read more

My reference of comparison is with an aging Hayward Tigershark. The Polaris 9550 cleans well, is very intelligent and does everything as advertised. It is a great improvement over the Tigershark in operation. I especially like the Lift system. There is a limitation here that you must observe, if the basket full indicator light is on … it will come to the... read more

like driving a car on the sidewalk I did ALOT of research before I purchased this product and decided on it because of the increased suction power, bigger single opening for debris to enter and the large debris basket. I have run it through 12 cleaning cycles and its has performed well. I have an irregular shaped 20,000 gallon pebbletec pool that tends to have a lot of leaves and sand at the bottom. The only place it doesn't clean is the steps used to walk into the pool. They are 1/2 the width of the cleaner so it really can... read more

A very expensive Robotic Vacuum This is a very expensive machine. Polaris has a good reputation so I went for it. I wanted a pool vac that would also brush. First, the machine climbes to far up the walls and shuts off. When this happens, the entire weeks program has to be re-entered. The robot climbs out even if it is set just for the floor area and not the tile. It does this on both the bench seat and climbing the steps. This is hugely annoying as it is usless to set a week setting when it will never run an entire week befo... read more

Good Robot! We ordered the Polaris 9550 pool cleaner after having an Aquabot T2 (which is also a good piece of equipment). We went with this model because of the remote control and good reviews from another web site. So far I really like this machine. Yes, it is largely plastic, but with a salt water pool, that's what I need. This is the easiest pool robot we have used in the 11 years of having a large, inground, fiber glass pool. Our pool is 40x16x8, and the Polaris cleans the entire pool in about 1.5 hours. Our pool has so... read more
