I've been replaced by a robot! Well designed, efficient unit. The cleaner is completely assembled but the stand needs to be put together, which is quite simple.My only quibble is that the display on the control unit seems to be stuck in the 70s with a red LED display that's not too easy to read in the sun. Clearly time for an upgrade here. The sequence for setting the clock and program modes follows the somewhat complicated system. A few well-designed dials would be much more intuitive.
Love It!!! Worth the money I have a large pool that sits under a Live Oak tree so I get a ton of debris in the pool in the spring and fall. I use the regular filter to grab the leaves off the bottom and the fine filter to get the small junk up. The system is easy to use and pretty efficient. Would have given a 5 star but the cord is difficult to deal with, gets tangled very easily. Unbelievable Pool Cleaner I needed to completely replace my old pressure side pool cleaner, from the pump out. Looking at total cost, I opted to instead switch to the fully electric pool cleaner. This will save a ton of money in electrical bills (over 1000 watts for my 3/4 horse pump down to 150 for this unit) . I have now had the Polaris F9550 Sport for 5 months. Best Pool Robot I've Tried Alright, so I've only tried a couple of pool robots. I prefer these fully autonomous units rather than suction side type units which have no intelligence to them. In addition to this unit, I've tried the Dolphin Nautilus. Both the Dolphin and this Polaris F9550 cleaned my pool equally well. In the case of either robot, my pool is spotless in about 2 hours. Perfect for my 18×36 inground/vynil Update: In its fourth summer of operation, and still going strong. I take care to lay out the cable without twists along the pool edge before pressing start, and always rinse off and dry the filter basket, the cable and the unit itself after each use - and store the unit in a shed during swim season (to protect it from UV damage) and indoors during winter. Works The product we got in was DOA. Took it to my local dealer and a few days later product was repaired with new control head and works. It doesn't do as well as I had hoped in that it goes in random patterns and that means it doesn't always cover the entire pool area. The remote while it works is not the easiest to use, but that could just be me. I like the easy out and cleaning the unit is easy. Finally, A Great Pool Cleaner I've taken over the care of the family pool. The house belonged to my in-laws, but he is 95 and can't do much of anything anymore. He always used the Polaris cleaner that attached to the pool filtration system. It would run for 6 hours at night and required cleaning out the next day. Great unit! Cleans what Triton PS couldn't The media could not be loaded. Currently testing Polaris 9550. We have a free form pool with lots of curves. It is feature rich with remote, swivel cable, caddy etc. I love the Polaris 9550. Oh and it rolls over the raised drain easy and collected the sand by benches/steps that the Dolphin Triton PS was not able to. GREAT FOR LIGHT USE I live in the desert and we get a lot of really fine dirt in the wind that ends up at the bottom of our pool quite regularly. The Zodiac Polaris F9550 Sport Robotic In-Ground Pool Cleaner does a great job roaming around the pool and sucking up the dirt. The filter that comes with the machine has much bigger holes in the filter basket and would not pick up any of the fine dirt, but they sell a fine mesh filter basket that does get absolutely all of the dirt, at an extra cost.THINGS I LOVE ABOUT IT:It's all... read more
