Better than older Polaris robot This robot is in use for its second season, and was purchased to replace an older Polaris robot that stopped working after about 5 years. This robot has more features than my older one, and does a good job cleaning the pool. Some of the fancier features seem over-complicated to me, and sometimes I find the need to use the remote to steer the robot and ensure that the entire pool gets cleaned (instead of the half nearest to where the robot is dropped into the water.) Love this cleaner Love this cleaner. Cleans pool thoroughly picks up large debris, large capacity with easy clean filter. Easy lift system is great and doesn't dump dirt back into the pool when taking it out like my old cleaner. Had a blue diamond before and didn't think I would find something I liked as well but this one is it. Tried the dolphin triton but returned it and bought this instead. Cool Excellent product works well. The remote control is a bit sluggish on response but in time I believe I'll master it.

I think of this like a Roomba for pools, not a full size vacuum but sure beats a daily broom and dustpan. I use this in a 70,000 Bean shaped pool. It does a complete job in 2x 3hr sessions for me, but is great for spot cleaning for an hour or two over a few days if lowered in different sections to start each session. It goes on the edge of the pool tile as well, slightly scrubbing the waterline but nothing like a brush and baking soda so don't expect that. Loving it! I've had my new robotic cleaner for a couple of weeks now and so far I am over the top happy with it's results. It is saving me the backbreaking chore of scrubbing my pool walls and I no longer have to worry about my vacuum line clogging frequently from the tree droppings in the bottom of the pool. Our pool has never looked better! The remote control takes a little bit of a learning curve.
