Polaris G52 Back-up Valve Assembly. This is a factory original Polaris replacement back up valve. It has a timer mechanism inside that diverts water out of a jet every 5-10 minutes. This jet acts as a back up, pulling the cleaner out from the pool floor or wall. There is an arrow on one side of the hose barb that should face towards the cleaner. Replacement for Original Back Up Valve Stil Working Fine It is an exact replacement and is working well.
Got my Polaris working again The ring on my backup valve cracked so first tried just replacing it. This fixed the leak but didn't seem to improve the performance. Replaced the whole valve and the unit is running like new again.

Good quality valve replacement for Zodiac pool cleaner After having issues with my pool cleaner getting stuck in corners I decided to investigate. Seems likely these valves can break and when they do you can tell because water will continually pump out rather than the strong spurts every so often. I bought this and now cleaner works fine...no mire getting trapped!!
