Polaris G52 Back-up Valve Assembly. This is a factory original Polaris replacement back up valve. It has a timer mechanism inside that diverts water out of a jet every 5-10 minutes. This jet acts as a back up, pulling the cleaner out from the pool floor or wall. There is an arrow on one side of the hose barb that should face towards the cleaner. excellent buy My old unit decided to take a dump after 20 years of service and although I could have purchased a replacement locally I decided to try the online service and was pleasantly surprised at the service and the price from Amazon, about half the cost of buying the unit here locally plus I saved the sales tax.
