Polaris G52 Back-up Valve Assembly. This is a factory original Polaris replacement back up valve. It has a timer mechanism inside that diverts water out of a jet every 5-10 minutes. This jet acts as a back up, pulling the cleaner out from the pool floor or wall. There is an arrow on one side of the hose barb that should face towards the cleaner. It is designed to go inline on the hose 5-6 feet back from the head of the unit. This back-up valve kit is designed to use with Zodiac Polaris pool cleaner models 180, 380, 280 and ... read more
excellent buy My old unit decided to take a dump after 20 years of service and although I could have purchased a replacement locally I decided to try the online service and was pleasantly surprised at the service and the price from Amazon, about half the cost of buying the unit here locally plus I saved the sales tax. Shipping was free to top it off and the delivery was only a few days which was no problem at all. The new unit is working flawlessly and my poolman is impressed as well.Pgun66
Terrible materials Lasted for a 18 months and spit in half. The retaining ring that holds both halves together split along the circumference. I have never seen anything like this from a materials perspective.

Garbage I wasted my money buying this more expensive factory unit. Mine failed after just two seasons of use. I pulled it apart this spring because it wasn't working properly and I found a few problems with the running gear inside. Furthermore, the stack of gears on the gear reduction shafts were sloppy enough that the bull gear and/or the reduc... read more

Polaris needs QC Case broke in half after 5 months of use.
Polaris needs QC Case broke in half after 5 months of use.
Broke in four months I bought this in mid October and it's worked well until 1 March so I only got about four months use out of it. I don't know how much trouble it is to send it back to Polaris. I reluctantly bought another one today. The one prior to this lasted a couple years. May as well buy knock offs.
