TailSweep Pro Does What is Says it Does! I have been looking for a solution for my Polaris 280 for 19 years that would keep my windows facing my pool clean. The spray from the tail sweep on my 280 shoots as far as 30 feet in the air and daily would cover my windows. Not a problem until... it dried which constantly left the spotted windows always dirty from pool water. Works great I've had a pool and several Polaris 360 cleaners over the years and all the cleaners sprayed our windows and us. There is not much to the part and the price seems a little high even for Polaris but damned if it doesn't work perfectly. First time in 25 years I don't have to dodge water when the cleaner gets close and no more sprayed windows.
Does what it says. You moght need to replace your tail hose to get it to "stick". Does what it says, but there is one caveat if your tail hose is worn down on the end. The "knob" at the end of my house was worn down prior to putting this on from being in my pool for years. This caused the tailsweep thingy to pop off every couple of days. I replaced the hose and it stays on much better now. I don't have water spots all over my back windows any more.
Works but Poorly Designed Like anything sold by Polaris (Zodiac) the TailSweep Pro is overpriced, particularly at the local pool supply stores. It works well, preventing the pool sweep tail from spraying everyone & everything during operation but it tends to disengage itself from the tail of the pool sweeper after a one season of use. No spalsh Polaris tip Works like a champ. It diverts the water spray enough to minimize the wicked tail splash that used to happen. This has stopped our windows from being covered in water each time the polaris ran. Only wish I had known about it sooner. The grips hold it on very well but if the tail gets stuck somewhere like a ladder etc it could pull the end off. You just have to reattach it. The old foam replacements fit on this as well.
Works well to keep water in the pool Really did the job, our pool is about 12 feet from the window. When the pool sweep "tail" whips up and squirts, it not only wastes water, but if it squirts on your windows or house, it will eventually deposit a film of minerals and anything else that is in your pool on your windows and home. A Life (and Clean Window) Saver Yes, it's true the vents get clogged, but I find that if I just take a toothbrush and scrub the vents I can have it clear in about a minute. Each Saturday I empty the cleaner bag and scrub the vents on the tail. For us this effort it is certainly worth it to not have water-stained windows. One star off because it would be better if it didn't get clogged in the first place. Should be included with a new Polaris This works as advertised, no more salty windows for us, and the tail seems to be just as effective as before installing this accessory.I am curious why this product isn't already included on new brand Polaris'. Isn't it in Zodiac's best interest to supply the most effective product possible out of the box? It's not like it would impact manufacturing cost, this little piece of cast plastic couldn't cost more then a quarter to make.
