Lasted less than 2 years...Supplier won't respond. I have had several of these but this last one is less than 2 years old and needs $500.00 in new parts. This pool cleaner does not even deserve one star or the company that distributed it through Amazon.Now I am trying to get a response about the 2 year warranty through the e-mail contact Amazon gave me , but I have not received a response. It was sold by Pool Supply World.
Faulty sweeper - never really worked It kind of worked, but never worked properly. For example, the sweep kind of hovered a bit above the pool floor so never really was able to pull in all the leaves at the bottom. It also seemed under-powered and was unable to move through parts of the pool that our prior pool sweep had no problem. Our professional pool guys said it was pretty much faulty throughout. Unfortunately looks like can only be returned within a month and we've now had it for two months.
Arrived with wheel broken off. Also happened to my neighbor. Opened up the package and one of the wheels had broken off. I saw this model at my neighbor's pool and he said it worked well. So I ordered the same one. When I told me neighbor about the broken wheel, he said he had the same problem. Cannot comment on how well it works yet as waiting for product to get fixed.

Floats, does not settle on pool floor I bought The Polaris 280 to replace my Legend pool cleaner. I have had it in the pool for 32 weeks and I don't think it has ever had its wheels on the floor of my pool. It seems to float about 18" above the floor. Very disappointed with it. Would not recommend.
Missing hose Wheels did not turn, so no movement in pool. My husband was super frustrated. Then, I Compared old cleaner to new & the hose to generate the turning of the wheels was completely missing. Instead of returning, we utilized hose off our old cleaner & added to new one.
Disappointed I already wrote an email regarding the 2 black max i bought both having issues and as it turns out, my supply house is over $50 less
Arrived defective When this Polaris pool vac arrived it arrived defective. The right side wheel was loose and would not engage with the drive rod. When I contacted Amazon they said they were not able to exchange it because the price had gone up and they could only give me a refund. I sent it back and purchased it on another site, which was less expensive and worked perfectly right out of the box. Not as good as I expected. We needed to replace the 280 white cleaner which had seen better days, the wheels and tires were perishing as was the hose. After weighing up the cost of a refurb buying a new cleaner appeared to be a better option. We chose the Polaris 280 F5B Black Max Pressure Side Automatic In Ground Pool Cleaner with Hoses.It was any easy install as everything was basically the same as the previous 280 but not quite what we expected with its operation.
