Start with accommodations, first class adequate size one bedroom , nice kitchen, great bath and wonderful closet. Living room small but two large chairs or one love seat and chair. Very clean, well maintained and great activities. Staff is first class and very accommodating. Most residents in independent living are seemingly happy or at least content. Only negative is food. Marginal at best even though chef tries hard. I think he tried to do to much needs to keep it simple.

My mom is very happy with her apartment, activities, dining experience, cleaning service in her apartment once a week, and she always has positive things to say about the staff in every department. One thing to know is that rent has been increased by 10% each year for two years. I do think that is a bit high and not mentioned when moving in. It has caused some people to move. People need to ask and ensure they can afford this facility in subsequent years.

5 for everything except food, 3 for food. What we like the most about the community is the great staff and the open, quality environment. Yes, we would recommend Portside at Grande Dunes communities to other families based on the experience so far.

Staff is friendly, it's in a beautiful and ideal location, beautifully decorated, SC house calls and visits, activities for everyone, transportation to appointments, etc. It allows my Mom to be independent while still feeling safe. Everything has been wonderful minus the food really needs improvement

My mom has made friends there and she likes her little social group but she does keep to her apartment a lot lately because the communication has been so bad there. Many changes over the year, on the third exec director, and have had too many chef changes and some weeks without a head chef, food has been bad. She pays for the meals it is all included but instead she buys groceries and cooks for herself. I was previously a resident at Portside at Grande Dunes. I would not recommend Portside to anyone. The meals were very repetitive and not that good. The two of us were paying almost $[removed] a month and it is definitely not worth it.

I would NOT recommend putting your loved in Portside facility in their Memory Care unit. The staff is awful and wont do anything unless asked. The staff is nothing more than not very good housekeepers at best. They are also they are woefully understaffed. The facility is new and nice and not run well. Anywhere is better than this based on the care provided.
