We had called to ask him to check out what had sounded like our chimney falling into the fireplace. He kindly didn't laugh too much when he found it was just the ash bucket getting bumped by us. He gave us some advice about what to watch out for with the age of our house and only charged us a small fee for the house call. Checked chimney for cleaning, but declined to charge us for a cleaning we didn't need.

Potomac services was extremely knowledgeable. Jeff arrived on time and provided great advice. He was very honest and did not pressure sell anything. Quite the opposite, he convinced me that certain work I was requesting would provide minimum return on investment. Honesty and integrity are rare finds these days I would definitely use them again. We had potomac service complete a dryer vent cleaning, troubleshooting a furnace flue back draft issue, and gas fireplace issue.
He was okay. I purchased a Big Deal for Chimney sweep or dryer vent cleaning for $90 each! These services normally cost $150 each!
Home was not inhabited during work. Workmanship was good, crew required close supervision(e.g., doors were left open overnight creating undue heating expense because supervisor was not onsite to closeup). Overall, project was effective and resulted in increase in selling price that more than paid for the upgrade. Remodelled house to prepare for sale: 1) new applicances & counters 2) paint interior 3) update guest and master bath 4) removed trash and cleaned up yard
The chimney sweep went extremely well because we also needed to have a repair done and they took care of that at a very reasonable price and they were quite speedy. I would recommend them to a family member. I would give them an 'A' for everything on the grading scale. It was Potomac Service chimney sweep. The additional charge was $75or less. It was great. I don't remember any problem. We ended up doing two chimneys instead of one so we paid an additional fee. It was very good. We were happy to hear that our chimneys were in great shape. They were very good. They were helpful. They answered all our questions. It was all positive. I purchased a big deal for Potomac Services. They came out to do a chimney sweep. It turned out it really didn't need a sweep so they inspected both chimneys.
