Here is a copy of one of my last emails with a new manager I spoke to earlier this year to advise them of our issues. Premium Lawn and Landscape did have a maintenance agreement for the 2012 season. However, the amount of this contract was less than $2600.00. We did have several conversations with the customer in regards to services. However, they were not in reference to us not performing these tasks on schedule. The customer has stated to us on several occasions that our mowing crew comes "like clockwork". Not much to report except that I booked a consult and stayed home from work to meet the landscaper. I only had 30-ish minutes to meet as i had to pick the kids up at a designated time. After 10 minutes of no show and no call. I contacted the office who called to lanscaper. When i got a call from her directly, she said she'd "overlooked" our appointment, but could be there in 10 minutes. Since that would leavevery littlea time for the consult, I passed. They came out, gave an estimate, we negotiated down $50 to leave behind the main trunk. They came as promised and neatly took down the tree with minimal damage to nearby shrubs. Fine job Cut down and removed a 12" diameter tree from the back yard.
My biggest complaint is that my lawn has never looked so bad. I contacted them as soon as the crab grass started taking over, and I even had Mark look at it. He didn't suggest a solution. With all of the treatments they did, the lawn should be in good shape. I recently emailed Mark to ask him what they were going to do about the crab grass and never got a reply. I am very surprised to hear this. We did not receive any calls at all from this client. ALWAYS follow up with a phone call. Emails do not always make it through spam filters. She had motioned her concerns about weeds late in the season last year. But due to the re-seeding, we could not do any extra spray application to treat post emergent weeds. There was no work perform. I received only an estimate from this company. I had to contact the estimator to get the estimate. Once I got it a part of the job was missing. I emailed him, and he sent it back by email. I needed to have more details since the estimate was not even a page with minimal description of the job. I call the company for this estimator to call me by phone. He never did! So this company never got the job! I chose somebody who answers phone calls and is willing to talk to me about the details of the job.... read more

Unfortunately, This grade is very unfair, and does not reflect the exact situation. We met with this member on march 19th. We reviewed their project and explained that we would provide an estimate. We needed to get several prices from vendors for material to build a quote based on several projects for her. Before I begin, I would just like to point out that we had used this company prior to this and had been very happy with the service we had received. To begin with the current experience, we own an end unit townhouse and had previously had our fence moved up the side of our house and had a shed put in. We also have a large tree in our front yard so our front yard is very shaded. Premium Lawn and Landscape (PLL) provided the members and estimate on 9/15 for turf reconstruction and trimming the front tree. The reconstruction involved an herbicide application, aeration, seed application, top dress with topsoil and removal of debris form designated areas. PLL verbally explained that the sooner the better when getting the best results for this season and advised that an additional seeding needed to be done in the spring. Cut down beautiful tree by mistake. Replaced it with much smaller diseased tree that died within a year. Refused to replace that tree. Overall design shows poor planning with short plants planted behind taller plants.Had problems with gates installed that they never fixed. Dissapointing experience overall. Designed landscape.
Tree (~40' Virginia pine) came down one night and land on top of 2 smaller maple trees; getting hung up about 6' off the ground. Call Chuck at Yards Are Us for an estimate. He provided one that evening that I called back and accepted. His crew came out the next day and removed the tree (and the 7' worth of stump left). When I came home from work the tree was gone and there was no sign anyone had been here or a tree had even fallen. Removal of downed 9" Virginia pine tree.
Terribly frustrating experience. We worked with Mark to help us develop a plan for the front and back yard in our newly constructed home. He came up with what appeared to be a good design for this big job, but did not include us in any of the decision-making about what shrubs/trees to use.
