Restaurants

Chef and restaurateur Marcus Paslay (Clay Pigeon, Piattello Italian Kitchen, Walloon's) brings a from-scratch sensibility and distinct culinary vision to the Stockyards’ Mule Alley development with Provender Hall. Its name a hat-tip to the area’s cattle-centric history, Provender Hall offers Paslay’s luscious take on American comfort food, with a playful menu spanning grilled trout to chicken gumbo to steak frites. Salads and sides such as crispy okra, braised greens and cheddar-cheese grits are also on offer.

Really cool concept. Liked the old time feel of the place. Cool spot!! The beef rib was kind of avg. the bark lacked flavor. Wife said same thing about the shrimp and grits. I had the steak frites and was pretty tasty. Definitely skip the corn bread appetizer very bland and not exciting at all. I have had much better skillet corn breads around town. Fried green tomatoes were pretty good. Overall wasn't wowed by anything. It was a really busy night and the stock yards were packed with American Rodeo in town. I... read more

Provender Hall is one of those places you really like but would never go back to just because. Like when you go skydiving or play laser tag it's like "Hey I enjoyed that but I probably won't do it again." That's Provender Hall for me. Nothing was wrong with the place the service was good the food was great and the vibe was chill. We ended up walking in cause we were hanging out in the stockyards and got hungry and Provender was the first place we passed when hunger hit us. It helped that you could smell the ribs cooking thou... read more

First thing you need to understand is this place is LOUD and when you add in LOUD stockyard folks it's a super loud and not at all a place for a quiet meal for 2. All concrete inside needs some serious acoustic help...good Covid protocols with masks etc. based on Covid there are no paper menus for wine list and poor reception due to location so QR never worked. Paper menus for the meal thankfully. Would suggest paper wine lists as the pours were not cheap and at $15 pours id like to know what I'm buying. 1/2 Smoked chicken w... read more

We found a cool new place called Provender Hall in the Ft Worth Stockyards. Good mixed cocktails and friendly staff. Recommend you check it out. The menu looks good too but we didn't eat

We went here to celebrate my husband's birthday! The temperature that day was perfect! The streets were lively and everyone was wearing masks. The atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely and our waitress was just as delightful! We ordered okra to start. Great! My husband ordered the redfish, prepared grilled. I might add the greens were BOMB! I ordered the trout and hoppin John. Mine meal was meh. I've never had a tomato based hoppin John and the fish was quite flavorless. Ugh. With reservation and in tears ( I don't like s... read more

Fantastic new spot with absolutely incredible ambiance and food. Excellent service and easy parking across the street. Try a paper airplane, oysters, okra and deviled eggs! We will be back!

Just okay! We love Marcus' other restaurants so we had high expectations for this one and unfortunately it fell short. We started with the skillet cornbread - nothing special and burnt in several places. My husband got a cup of the gumbo soup and once he got past the intense smoke flavor he liked it. For our entrees, we ordered the chicken fried steak and steak frites. I enjoyed the chicken fried steak, but my husband did not like his steak frites. The inside was cooked accordingly, however the outside was so charred he coul... read more

Spot on! It's brave to take on "mama's cooking" with fried green tomatoes and chicken fried steak but they pulled it off! I was waiting to be disappointed but it never came! Literally the only negative is make your old fashions in a proper glass with proper ice but other than that fantastic! Wait staff was incredible!

Cool stockyards spot! Would highly recommend the pimiento cheese, steak frites and the classic cheeseburger. Unfortunately the shrimp and grits weren't great. Shrimp was chewy and smelled a little too fishy for my taste. Everything else was fantastic. Service was perfect and loved the atmosphere. Really cool spot!
