If you treasure your animals as much as I do, the last heartache you ever want to face is to see them treated by uncaring savages. I've been there, and for me, these guys were anything but. Truly compassionate, truly professional, truly understanding. What more could you possibly ask for for your furry one's caregiver? I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

My dog's vaccination and health records have been mismanaged multiple times, which has led to unnecessary and expensive repeat visits. They also refuse to give vaccines unless you agree to come back the following week for a paid recheck, forcing another exam fee. Between the poor record-keeping and the forced rechecks, it feels predatory towards pet owners.

Business response:

Hi Clarence, We’re sorry to hear that you were frustrated by your experience. To clarify, we did not refuse to administer vaccines. In this case, our veterinarian recommended postponing vaccines because there was an active infection present, which was discussed at the appointment. Vaccinating while an infection is present is not considered best practice, as it may compromise both safety and effectiveness. The progress exam was recommended to allow the doctor to reassess your pet, confirm the infection had fully resolved, ... read more

I would'nt go there. I had my beloved buddy surgery booked at another clinic for an emergency acute painfull tooth extraction which took 4 weeks. Can you imagine extreme pain from an abscessed tooth ? I took him to see if they could do it sooner, but they refused. My feeling is that they didn't want to for political reasons of taking from another clinic, so my liitle cat had to suffer , so is that caring ?? Could they not refer me somewhere ? Animals are like humans, they shoudnt have to suffer.

On the morning of May 9, 2022, we brought our beautiful boy, Peter, to the clinic for a cryptorchid neutering, 5 hours later he was DEAD! The incredibly inexperienced vet ignored every single indicator in Peter's blood tests that showed her how truly unhealthy he was. Instead of trying to find out what was wrong with Peter, the inexperienced, ignorant vet pushed a surgery, which we objected to verbally and in writing, that would ultimately kill him. Furthermore, she misled us about the results of his blood tests and failed t... read more

I came very close to reporting them to the veterinary college, they were so awful. The smarmy scripts their staff use probably explain their high ratings, because it sure wasn't the quality of care. My pet had a very common condition, with well-known set of limited possible causes. The vet gave me the absolute minimum of information, and zero discussion of its significance. I started asking questions, and he seemed offended. Getting meaningful information out of him was like pulling teeth. We were discharged after only one p... read more

Business response:

Hi there, We're sorry to hear that you had a negative experience, but do appreciate the time you took to provide feedback. Unfortunately, it's difficult to look into the details of your appointment here without more information about you and your pet but if you would like to discuss your pet's care or your concerns further please contact us directly at the clinic. I have been taking my dog here since he was just a few months old. He is now seven and I will never be taking him back here. On May 28th he had his first seizure. I took him in and had some blood work done and was told because it was just his first seizure they just let it go but if he has anymore we will have to investigate further. In the evening on June 25th he had another seizure. The next morning I called in and was told the veterinarian he originally saw for his first seizure was not in and they would have her call... read more

I usually look at reviews for recommendations... that lead to the very unfortunate events that lead me to this vet. The vet was extremely unprofessional. I receive a phone call after one analysis "you're pet will die in a year", I immediately cry. I take my pet for an ultra sound and blood work else where and he's fine. The vet also recommended I spend 400$ on a diet plan prior to prognosis. I spent it. It was chicken and rice and all supplements illegal and undeliverable in Canada. I took my pet elsewhere for prognosis ... read more

I will never go to Queen West Animal Hospital again. I don't typically write reviews, but due to a very unfortunate series of events I feel I need to post. My cat was seriously injured about a month ago by another cat or some animal outside. She needed stitches in her tail and hind leg. She had surgery at the Queen West Animal hospital. After the surgery the assistant (NOT THE VET) said her surgery was fine but they discovered diabetes and that I need to medicate her.The vet did not even take the time to speak to me after h... read more

We had a very alarming and eye-opening experience with this clinic, after they over-dosed our 4 month-old miniature dachshund puppy with a vaccine and take-home heartworm medication, making him quite sick for weeks. This clinic came highly recommended by many friends and of course, by the internet reviews. We trusted the care of our new miniature dachshund puppy to the team at Queen West Animal Hospital. We soon learned that their internal processes around medication prescription and administration are flawed and dangerous,... read more
