I had a terrible experience with Queen West this week. I wish I could give them a score lower than one. I took my dog in for x-rays because she was experiencing pain in one of her hind legs. The vet showed me her x-rays, and although she kept stressing that she was not a radiologist and we wouldn't know for sure until they was reviewed by one, she was almost certain it was cancer. She showed me exactly why she had come to that conclusion, including that the 'affected' areas went way beyond her hips, and was even visible ... read more
Worst vet I have ever been to. Dog had an ear infection and they prescribed an ear drop which needs to be put in twice a day for a week. My dogs ear is already in pain and sensitive and it traumatizes him every time to put in the drops. And it makes me extremely difficult to put it in. After a few days of unsuccessful administration of ear drops, I went in to ask what else could be done. I was told I could buy another medication which is just as effective that only needs to be put in once a week for two weeks. WHAT?! Why did... read more
We decided to start bringing our dog to Queen West Animal Hospital about a month ago, after moving to the area. We saw it was very highly rated and had great reviews so we decided to try it out. Needless to say, one month and two vet visits were enough to convince us to switch back to our old vet. I am very disappointed in the service level here. I don't understand how it can have such good ratings. It is overall very impersonal, they never recognize me or my dog, and we are treated by a different vet every time (which give... read more
I left these vets because they and the service desk people are so rude especially Trevor who is permanently scowling at the world. And I was told when my dog underwent dental surgery that her heart raced and she could never have another surgery After changing vets my dog needed more teeth removed I was hesitant as I was told so emphatically by Queen west that she was unable to undergo surgery When my new vet checked and had a look a their medical records - they had under-anesthestized her and that is the reason her hea... read more
Not sure why this place is so highly rated. I have been twice and had horrible service both times. The vets and assistants offer very little advice and information regarding basic questions related to vaccines and tests. Both times I have been given a lengthy chart and told to pick a service with no explanations, totally unnecessary and a waste of money. I have been advised to get a rabies vaccine despite still having two years on the last one. This place is a cash grab praying on the yuppy crowd. Advice- find a vet, this pl... read more
I have spent over $6k here in less than 2 years to take care of my two aging dogs. I think the vets here probably mean well, but I can't get over the fact that they couldn't diagnose my dog's illness for over a year until it was too late, and that when we went in for an unrelated routine exam for the surviving dog just a few days after our first one died there, the vet who euthanized our little guy didn't even remember us. No look of recognition, no condolences, no nothing. He clearly didn't even look at the charts since he ... read more
I'd been going here almost since they first opened but as they became more popular the care & attitude seemed to drop drastically. I'd been to several vets here but hands down the best was Dr. Bainbridge. When they first opened Dundas West Vets I started to follow him there. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Dundas West Vets, it's wayyyy more relaxed and approachable. All the staff there is so much more welcoming and professional than Queen. Sadly, Queen seemed to just be about rushing clients through and making money. Although Dundas West ... read more
We got a young doctor who seems to keep changing her mind on what the condition of my cat could be. At first look she immediately told us that it could be cancer and we need to perform a biopsy, which we agreed to. After the results came back negative, she called me saying it could be some form of rodent's disease which she said I could Google. I said "Are you sure it's not just allergies? I mean the signs are all there." After I said that she said "Oh yeah, it's allergies, you're gonna need to buy some special food from us"... read more
Business response:
I'm sorry you feel your experience at our hospital did not meet your expectations. We strive to maintain outstanding patient care and customer service. Although I was not directly involved with your cat's care, medicine is not an exact science and medical practitioners often have to make several diagnostic and therapeutic attempts to get to the bottom of a problem. Additionally, issues of the skin are often the most challenging of all. Please contact me if there is anything I can do to help or if the problem is still not... read more
This place tries too hard to sell their own pet food. I have made many appointments with them (I have two cats and my boyfriend has one) Every time we go in, they offer to sell the pet food available there and says that it is "healthy" I'm sure other cat owners have different opinions about what they feel is the best for their cats. So for us, we try not to give our cats any food that contains grain. The food at this location contains grain. I was just unhappy with the fact that every single time, they try to sell their food... read more
