Bethany the therapist is exciting, she always has a lot of energy and she's super funny. She runs great groups, and commands the room with a lot of structure which comes easy to her, keeping everyone in line so we can focus on the topic at hand. Shes great at what she does and shes invested in her job.
Thomas the TA has a beautiful personality. Every time he says my name he smiles and it just warms my heart. I first met him in the candy store and every time since then he lights up and remembers my name. He goes out of his way to follow through on anything you ask him. Always willing to help with my concerns and if he cant help me, he makes sure t get me with someone who can. Grade A staff here are River Oaks!
The staff here has been amazing and does a very good job, especially Tarshay because she is very responsible. She makes sure you re where you're supposed to be on time. If she sees you hanging around, she will encourage you to get to group. She has helped me out with some wigs to take home with me to start fresh. She is always personable and there for the clients. She will advocate for you when you need it and greets you with a smile every time she sees you.
Lexy in housekeeping has always been helpful and pleasant. The facilities here are amazingly beautiful. They have a large fountain and plenty of grounds for running and exercising, including a huge state of the art gym. That thing is like a planet fitness! They change my towels and linens, I have a queen sized bed, share it with one other room mate, and attend classes throughout the day with lots of down time and freedom during the night with lots of cool activities, I especially love the recovery church that comes in every ... read more
Nurse Kathy is an amazing nurse. She has a high work ethic for real. She is consistent with the way she does our med pass and the way she treats everyone with kindness. Sometimes it can be very stressful during med pass but Nurse Kathy always keeps her composure and acts professionally while treating everyone with respect. I have never seen her rattled before or lose her calm. I have a lot of respect for the nurses here because they have an extra hard job but they so an extra great job as well!
Tarshay is always on point and the most caring, helpful, and concerned staff member here who is always advocating for the clients and going out of her way to give us helpful advice or a word of encouragement or positive affirmation. I always go to her when Im having a hard time and she offers support to let me know that I can do this and that I deserve my recovery.
I have thoroughly enjoyed attending the classes since starting my journey in recovery here at River Oaks. In particular I love the classes facilitated by Demetrius because they are fantastic and he motivates his class constantly. He builds us up and tells so many relatable stories. I love that he does certificates for those who go through the full course, Ive learned so much about anger management and just keeping it real in recovery from Demetrius.
Im a veteran and my counselor has been amazing because he is a veteran too. I feel like Brian understands me and what Ive been through. We talk about so many things in the Veterans groups and they let me know that Im not alone. It has helped me build a camaraderie with people who have similar experiences as me. Brian listens and responds attentively, he always greets us with a pleasant attitude and lets us know that were being heard.
When I first got here I had no idea what was going on and needed to add money to my account so I could get my cigarettes and a vape but I didnt have my phone yet so Katie in the business office helped me out to get money added to my account and was so nice and kind in explaining the process. I felt so much better and had a lot of stress and worry off my shoulders. Katie was very helpful and stopped what she was doing to help me so she deserves the recognition for going above and beyond.
