First of all, Demetrius runs the best classes at River Oaks. He keeps your attention and talks about not giving up. He always has a movie for us to watch so you can really see and experience the lessons. He brings a lot of laughter to the class and the time goes by real fast when he's teaching because we love his stories. He always makes me think about situations and makes me emotional by getting on the inside of me.
Ever since I got here the staff has been smiling and energetic. The TA Haleigh stopped what she was doing to help me get my money loaded onto my account and got me with the business office so I didn't have to wait to order my things like clothes and cigarettes and get some snacks from the candy store. I would have been in a huge bind if she hadn't helped me. She even gave me a ride across campus on the cart to help me get there.
Most of the staff go beyond and above to assist like Miss Carol who always has a smile on her face. I appreciate that she is very firm about the rules. She helped me when I first got here about how to get my cigarette order from the station. All the clients get excited when she comes to work, its nice to see a familiar face in unfamiliar place. A little piece of warmth way from home.
