Everyone always complains about the food here but I love it. The kitchen staff is amazing, the new guy Anthony is Italian and is steady banging out Italian dishes down his kitchen line. He'll tell you all about them like what he made and the ingredients he used, you can tell he takes a lot of pride in what he does. That always makes me happy to see and he earns mad respect from the guys for always being a great cook and treating everyone fairly with good portions.
Veteran Frank is a nurse over on the 1st floor of my building and this guy always has something funny to say to make you laugh or smile. Hes always got a joke or a one liner to pull out on a gloomy day to lift your spirits. I like going through his med line because he will chat with you and tell you a good story while checking in. He knows all of his clients by name and all of their medications, so he usually has everything ready to go and makes every day here going through this process a little brighter. I appreciate the doctors and all the medical staff who have helped me through the process of getting my medication issues worked out, for the longest time I struggled with finding the right meds and was dealing with all these unwanted side effects from the previous medication I was on, but Doctor Sina sat me down and figured out a good alternative for me by going over all the different options and helping me understand how different meds interacted with my body. My therapist has been a god send since coming back to treatment for a third time, Andy has taught me so much about my addictions. Ive learned about how to deal with my triggers in a healthy way and use my coping skills. I also learned about how my body and brain have been affected, and I really enjoyed the DBT groups that taught me about mindfulness. Haley has been such a professional every time I seen her she knows exactly what shes doing and where to go to get it done. She is on top of every thing and is always so respectful to all. She never gets shook or has an attitude with anyone, she just stays calm and carries on. TA Thomas is the man! He is literally the nicest person Ive ever met, that man always has a smile on his face and goes above and beyond in everything he does. I like that they have proper house keeping and room service here like making my bed and doing the laundry once or twice a week. The rooms are super nice and Greg from the support department is always happy with a positive attitude to help. He cleans everything so good and will stop what hes doing to make sure everything is stocked up like we need. The customer service has been top of the line and I have learned a lot since I admitted here, this is not my first rehab but its certainly the best one Ive been too.
I have had nothing but great experiences with the staff at River Oaks so far, Ive been here almost a month and everyone has been so kind and accommodating. Miss Coretta in the front office holds this place down. She always has an answer or can get you with someone who does. My therapist Karah is real easy to talk to. I know I can always depend on her to tell me what I need to hear and not what I want to hear because she dont ever sugar coat nothing. I didnt even know I needed the kind of structure this place has given me before I got here. Ive been able to create a new routine for myself, I even get up at 6 in the morning to get ready for breakfast and work out before class every day.
