Nurse Casey takes care of us girls on the women's unit. She is kind and compassionate all the time. Even when she finds herself in the most difficult situations, she always keeps a good attitude when dealing with difficult people. I have a lot of respect for a nurse who can keep her composure like that and always keep her professionalism. She keeps the clients and there needs as her number one priority and makes sure that med pass goes over without issues. She's one of the best nurses Ive ever met!
They have several large dorms here and each unit has nurses or doctors with class rooms and therapists in the hall where all the groups are. Its set up really nice, but my favorite is my nurses on my floor. Nurse Frank is always there to greet me almost every morning and he is ALWAYS on his game. He look out for me, especially when my blood pressure is low. He makes sure Im ok and I have everything I need. He's also super funny and always has a joke to make me feel better. The doctors I've seen have all helped me out and made me feel comfortable and understood. It helps the detox to know you have someone helping you that understands. The nurse practitioner Shayna is very down to earth and engaging. She seems to really care about the clients because she lets you have input into your own treatment plan. The staff at River Oaks advocate hard for the clients. My therapist Olivia is always calm and aware of everyone in the room and what they need or what they are going through. She lets us know when we are doing well and she always trys something new in groups. She even encourages everyone by giving out something for attendance. It's been helpful to have that kind of encouragement and to be learning all the awesome things Im learning in group to be able to start a new life. Ive had a great experience so far.
I recently completed the program at River Oaks where Karah was my therapist. I have to say, she was fantastic! Karah taught group therapy sessions and I found her to be very funny and energetic, which made the sessions much more enjoyable. She was more than just entertaining. She was also incredibly smart and real. She didn't try to sugarcoat anything or tell us what we wanted to hear. Tarshae consistently showed me compassion while I was at River Oaks. She was always kind and insightful, taking the time to listen to my concerns and offer helpful guidance. Her loving demeanor and willingness to go above and beyond did not go unnoticed. She helped me with the confusion when I had to move to another dorm and she helped me get settled in and get my stuff which got left behind. I greatly appreciate that Tarshae went above and beyond for me because she cared about how I felt and made sure I was ok.
The staff at River Oaks provided excellent care during my stay. Rachel in particular was always on her game, showing a deep level of care and attention to detail. Nurse Frankie always works my unit and he is so calm. He never gets mad about anything! You will never catch him making a negative comment which is very professional. He keeps things positive and makes himself available to you, even if he is busy he always puts the customer first and handles your need like a priority.
My man Rosby in the business office is super quick and helpful with good people skills. He will give you a legit pep talk whenever you need it! I like that he is encouraging and takes his time with clients to make sure you have everything you need to be successful in treatment.
