My therapist takes her time to listen to me and make sure she understands me and where Im coming from. Its been difficult learning to open up to someone and be vulnerable, but I feel Karah understands me and cares about helping me with some of my issues Im going through. The groups have been helpful and I like that they have activities every night with 12 step meetings. If you really want to get help and get better, you get out of it what you put into it and and I have gotten a lot out of River oaks.

I had to get my blood drawn which was really annoying so I was frustrated about it, but the lab tech Maurice made it an upbeat experience because his personality is so positive and hes great at drawing blood, I didn't even feel it and I was able to go right back to sleep so it wasnt as much of a hassle as I thought it was gonna be. Everyone has been very helpful so far.

Cristina is my therapist and she is very personable which makes it easy to talk to and open up to her. She listens and her groups dont suck! She keeps me interested by telling stories and using games sometimes to help break the monotony. When i first came here I really didnt want to stay ,but with the help of my peers, case manager, and the groups- its been a pretty good experience for my sobriety.

Rosie the housekeeper is super sweet. She goes out of her way and doesn't just fly through everything. She is a total sweetheart and uses the best smelly good spray around! Glad to have a housekeeper as nice as her.

I cant say enough about the groups done by Demetrius. He is so freakin funny and always gives great energy. His talks are so uplifting to everyone in attendance, and no one wants to miss his groups! He will not let you be late! You better get to class on time so you dont miss his motivational talks. he just truly wants to help b y sharing his passion with us all and helps us work through some really tough emotions. I dont think my recovery would be the same as it is today without having attended has classes.

My case manager and therapist have been amazing. Amy my counselor is so caring and makes it a point ot help all clients, not just her own. If her door is open, she will let you in to sit and talk any time you need it. She has an open door policy. She keeps her groups very organized and always comes prepared. I like that she incorporates different kind of lesson plans that keep topics interesting. She is very sweet and Im so glad I have her to turn to on a regular basis throughout my stay at River Oaks.

The staff at river oaks has good follow through and they keep their word when they say they care for you because the techs, case managers, therapists, and all the doctors are very kind. The TA on my floor Tarshae is always going above and beyond to help and show compassion. She has pointed me in the right direction more than once. She always has the right answer and helps to keep me out of trouble because she is so level headed and can see when I am in a bad place. Thomas in EVS has good energy and works hard. He keeps it real and is always willing to help. He'll stop what hes doing just to look out and goes above and beyond every time. He definitely needs a promotion soon!

My lady Rosie in housekeeping is a very hard worker and always makes me smile because she is so positive and upbeat. She keeps everything super clean and always looks out if I need my laundry done, my bed sheets changed, or fresh towels she got me!
