took my dog here last year after existing vet couldnt figure out what was wrong with my dog. after a month of tests and acupuncture my baby was diagnosed with cancer. my dr was great. sat with me for hours while i cried and cradled my dog. my dog was a weekly patient here for two months. my dr knew he had a few months to live. my dr knew i was seeing another dr and the cancer center. you think he ever called to followed up or see how ***I*** doing? no. in fact, i got a "check up" notification in the mail months after i had ... read more
My beloved dog passed away here the other day. I ran in hysterical and they took her in right away but kept me in the waiting area going crazy while i heard some news. Then they asked me what happened and while i was in hysterics, waiting for news they brought me what the bill would be like. I just wish there was some way to save her. I know her heart was still beating when i took her in, but she was out of it. The staff was very friendly though and had sympathy but the main vet doctor didnt seem too sympathetic, i guess he ... read more
This low rating is only because I adopted a pet that had been abandoned when the caretaker could no longer afford its care. The person had quit a job and belonged to a fundamentalist group that allowed pets if the member could afford it. RAH was the vet practise where the pet was a patient. When I came in for the preliminary exam, there was an additional $140 of tests that were "required". When the vet took the cat to the back for bloodwork, she said "I'll clip her claws for you and throw in some flea stuff", implying she was doing me this favor. When I got the bill, there was an additional $15 for the claws and $65 for 3 months of flea stuff! ... read more
Since when did taking a pet to the vet become worse than going to a used car lot? We've been going here for a couple years, and this most recent visit will be the last. The techs are really friendly, as is the desk staff, but the heavy--very very heavy--emphasis on getting you to get extra tests, come back for extra visits, etc is just... slimy. The vets here, every one I've seen, are very casual about saying things like, "Oh, Fluffy's getting up there in years, let's go ahead and do a senior blood panel." You discover i... read more
