Dr. Raclyn is the kindest, most honest, and most professional veterinarian I have ever known. Not only does he practice conventional medicine, your animals can also receive holistic treatment. My cat is having some health problems, and since my old vet was in Brooklyn, i wanted one closer, so brought him to Riverside Animal Hospital on 108th. They are wonderful. You can make appointments easily, they are open late one night a week, and open on Saturday and Sunday. And even if they don't have any appointments that day, they are always willing to see a sick pet. They stayed late for me so that I could bring my kitty in. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who feels that Riverside Animal has been focusing a lot on tests recently. I've been going there for about 11 years. The techs and the vets are all very very good, but I do feel like there has been a stronger emphasis on more and more tests in the last few years. And I miss their old location--it felt less high-tech and more friendly. I had been loyal patient here for decades but I have had enough. I have forgiven appointments that started an hour later than scheduled, forgave the time I took my cat to be euthanized but they accidentally killed her and I never got a chance to say goodbye... but when the vet I had never seen squeezed my 4 lb dog then demanded a muzzle (my dog has problems even eating hard food), and gave me a $1200 estimate for tests and X-rays, I took a day to think about what to do... and got a second opinion. I am not happy with my experience at all. I brought my cat in to get an exam for a dental cleaning. The vet said that it was his top teeth that had tarter build up, not too much on the bottom and there should be no need for extractions. They ran tests and with the discount everything came out to $600. We got the test results back the following Monday and it showed my cat having an abnormal result for his heart. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU HAVE A FRENCH BULLDOG! After three years of coming to this place, I am done. I will preface this post with my dog is a Frenchie--he gets anxious and is also prone to overheating in distress and hot temperatures. Every time I come to this office, I am always on time, if not early for my appointments. They always move at a snails pace and are never efficient. I've had some good experiences at this clinic, and after this latest experience I have decided that I'm a lifelong client. I will never take my cats anywhere else. The level of care, the courtesy and the professionalism at Riverside North are unmatched by any other place that I've been to, and I've been to quite a few places in the city, including some of the "big names" in feline care. If I can give them a zero in rating I would. My cat was sick I wanted to speak to the vet Mandy and the receptionist would not put me through in my opinion she was very rude to me. I called for two weeks trying to talk to the vet and they never returned my call I will never ever go back there again

Really bad experience. Don't recommend it. Before I visit, I asked how much that will cost for a female cat spay, they said around 200 to 300 dollars. Then I went there, it costs me more than $600 for two vaccines and pre-surgery (blood work) test. After that, they told me my cat is all good and ready for the surgery, and send me a more than $800 estimate (without tax). ... I never heard spay a female cat will cost you $1400 ??? So disappointed! Never go there again!
