When my cat was very sick, I brought her here for care. At the time, I was unemployed, and after $300 of blood tests was told she needed an ultrasound. I asked how much that would be, and they said $500. When I said I couldn't afford it, they just shrugged. I found out that the Humane Society did ultrasounds for $140. The fact that this place would have let my cat suffer/die rather than mention that option makes me furious and is unconscionable. We started going to this hospital since it is very close to our apartment, but all three times we've been there it just took forever to be seen by someone. I get that things can get busy, but if I made an appointment at 11 am, I shouldn't be taking my pet in at 11:45 and then be in the waiting room for another 15 minutes. My experience with Riverside Animal Hospital is that if there is anything they can bill you for, they will. They tried to make me feel guilty that my dog would not have the outrageously expensive dental cleaning they offered. Originally, they understated the cost of the cleaning and I thought I would go ahead with it. I paid for the preliminary bloodwork and when I actually showed up with my dog after the results said there was no reason not to proceed, I was told what the total actual cost would be, something in the neig... read more
My beautiful angel Shih Tzu, Ariel, passed away from kidney disease 2 months ago. I will miss her everyday of my life. I am very disappointed that her attending physician, Dr K., never even acknowleged her passing. I guess to him, she was just a number,

If I could give Riverside Animal Hospital 0 stars, I would. My husband and I had utilized the services of the Riverside Animal Hospital (RAH) as our various cat's veterinarian for the past 24 years. After the experience that our cat, Mango, had for his last visit, we really believe that RAH cares more about $$$ than animals and they do NOT communicate accurate info to pet owners. Very sad to see that the response to my review was such a big lie! I was NOT recommended a trainer from Blue Pearl, the trainer they gave me was from their actual offices which was awful!! Once again, whole thing is a rip off.

This is the most honest review anyone will ever give of Riverside Animal Hospital. The ending is sad and Im extremely angry. I will however stay objective. I had to put Sage, my Chihuahua, down 24 hours ago, as a result of what, in my opinion, and many others, including Riverside Animal Hospital staff opinion, is, simply, VET MALPRACTICE. I took my cat and dog here a couple of times and this is what happened. Once I was given someone else's prescription. I only noticed it at the pharmacy when I noticed the name was different. This morning I called them because I wanted to take in my dog who had a seizure at 3 am. They said they were booked until Monday. Even after I explained what happened that just said, sorry.
After reading the latest review on this place (01/11/14) I am wondering if the DOH will make a visit to check this hospital cleanliness? They do it for restaurants, medical clinics to protect us, why not vets offices? Are our little friends lesser than we? Are they not supposed to be uphold the same standards? Well, America is a free country, and anyone can say anything they want of course, but clearly Yann has a problem with us. In a nutshell, he came to us for a urinary tract problem with his cat. This is one of the most common problems we see. Dr East made the appropriate recommendations and started treatment. A small percentage of cats with urinary tract problems have bladder stones, but we don't recommend taking X-rays every time we see a cat with a urinary tract problem.
