this facility is very bad managed. My dog is in a very fragile health situation and it is almost impossible to have support in case of emergency. The crew does NOT reply emails. I would not recommend it for the sake of your pets.

I would not take my cat here again. I made an appointment for her just to get her nails clipped, and when I arrived the appointment time they had down for me was wrong by 15 minutes. Something that anywhere else takes about five minutes took over an hour. I waited about 50 minutes after my appointment time and my cat was still not taken in. I had to ask the person at the front desk when they would be ready and she said "Oh, they haven't taken her yet? It will just be five minutes. When they finally took her in it took about ... read more

I have been a customer of this practice for over 40 years. They are not the same practice since they were sold a few years ago. Current dog, who is 15 years old, has been with this practice for years. The vets are great but the management staff does not know what they are doing and are definitely not compassionate. They don't care about the needs of my dog. I was called for a 9:30 appointment that was given away by 9:01 to another dog. Agree that an emergency should be tended to but should it have been at my dogs expen... read more

This place is NOT RECOMMENDED. I have been bringing my beloved rescue dog Margaret to Riverside for the last 6 years that we have had her. She has been through multiple cancer surgeries with this vet and many other issues over the years. We've always had a good experience, with the exception of always feeling pressured to be upsold on vaccines, but recently the doctors have all changed over and they are now under new management. I called this past weekend when my dog was LITERALLY BLEEDING and they told me they would only t... read more

I spent a long time looking for a vet for my new kitten and finally came across Riverside which seemingly had good reviews. The first visit was okay and I spoke to the doctor over the phone while I waited outside due to COVID-19 protocols. I mentioned a few issues with my kitten's eyes that the vet didn't take very seriously but overall the visit was fine. Of course a few days later his eyes worsened and I had to take him back in. They also asked me to bring in a fecal sample to test for parasites, which they neglected to as... read more

Business response:

Called Riverside Veterinary Clinic at W. 108th street in NYC today to get my dogs nails clipped. We are existing clients. Was told that the price went from $25. to $50!!!! Seems that they added $25. for a tech visit + the $25. for the clipping. Additionally they cancelled their 10% senior discount. I was incensed! Told them they could keep there nail and tech services and I would find another Vet. Called Gotham Veterinary, there few is $22. and I will he seeing them on Tuesday. Riverside gets a 0 rating from me.

Business response:

Hi Lynn, We are sorry to hear that we failed to meet your expectations. We typically perform pedicures for medically compromised pets and have found that having them evaluated by a technician at the time of their appointment has helped catch changes in their health earlier. Our goal is to provide you and Bitsie Boo Pepper the highest quality care possible.

This hospital is so horrible and definitely avoid dr. Doherty. My cat has been vomiting and suffering from constipation for a few days and I brought her to the hospital. It was obvious that the cat was having anal gland issue, as her anal was swollen so badly. However, Dr Doherty just said that my cat is overweighted and asked me to change food (everyone can tell that from the first glance). The doctor visit was over $90, but she didn't provide any helpful suggestions, nor prescriptions. I told her that I'm extremely concer... read more

Business response:

Please don't go here. Our 13.5 y/o cat started throwing up September of 2019 once a day. We got her x-rayed and the vet said that arthritis was causing her to not urinate as frequently, which was causing irritation in the stomach area. She was put on steroids and Pepsid AC. She still kept vomiting, so I called Riverside. The vet took two weeks to get back to me. Meanwhile this cat was vomiting once or twice per day and was in pain, refusing to eat the Pepsid. Cat was put on anti-emetic and we were told that would solve it.... read more

Unprofessional vets. They do not care about the health of the animals they "treat." I'm shocked by how little they care. My friend had a dog who was deathly ill and they withheld the information from her for several days because of a technical error - her dog could have died! Do not take your pet here.
