We bought our heat pump from WES, and now we learn they no longer service our area in Coupeville on Whidbey Island. Very disappointing.

I felt that I was subject to a bait and switch at the Home Show this week. I supposedly won a Furnace maintenance service and when I was contacted by WES they stated that I had to pay an additional $170 to get my Heat Pump serviced - that they would service my aux furnace but the heat pump service would be $170. The free furnace tune up is for a furnace only and not a furnace + an outdoor unit. Our pricing is per piece as many homeowners in the Puget Sound only have a furnace. A "plumber" came to fix a broken garbage disposal in my kitchen. that part went ok. While he was there, I asked him about my upstairs shower valve where the temperature varied wildly from day to day. He offered to take a look at it, and in doing so indicated that cold water was leaking into the hot water and he said he fixed it. When he asked me to take a look at it, he had re-assembled it backwards. He struggled with that for quite a while and finally got it back together correctly. My experience started with a their "best most knowledgeable tech" according to them. When he arrived he chose to ignore us as we were trying to explain the symptom of the problem we were having. The symptoms we were having all pointed to a bad blower motor. The blower motor would cease up and the furnace would over heat and shut down but the tech diagnosed it as a bad exhaust motor. Normally service is pretty good, but the last time, it had to be rescheduled twice and the first visit didn't resolve the issue. There was also little flexibility in terms of having to have someone present. Otherwise, it was good.

Good service, HOWEVER, The repairman gave me a written quote for a 5 year service contract and told me it was good for only 30 days. upon calling to get more information, I found out that I was "lied" to and the so called bargain price was, in fact, the regular pricing. Makes me not want to recommend these people.

Their scheduling department scheduled the 9th and 10th of August for a two day complete install. I scheduled these two days to take work off so I could meet them and get the project completed. I was promised two full crews which I assumed was 4 men total. Day one a crew of two men showed up at 11:30 AM, unloaded the windows and install one only before leaving. We have been trying to get our ac fixed for effectively two summers now. Last summer we were mistakenly told our ac was no longer under warranty. This March when we decided we could not endure another summer without ac, WES came out and told us we are under warranty and that they could fix our ac. Now we are told that the part we need is on back order and won't arrive until late August and there is nothing they can do about it. Poor service all the way around.

I believe Washington Energy Services would benefit from better communication. A tankless Water Heater Installation which we initially thought would be five months from start to finish, is now going on eight months. Permits were not sent, advance communications of people showing up at our door was not followed up with. Some of the subcontractors were initially rude when they surprisingly showed up.
