We selected Roxy's for Thanksgiving Day dinner based on our excellent experience we had last year; however, this year was a disaster. The Hostess did not make us feel welcomed and was sour in attitude. We ordered the traditional Thanksgiving dinner. The salad was soggy but tasty. The plating of the food was not eye-appealing. Took an hour to get our food. Ordered a soufflé which had to be canceled because we had a play to go to, and there wasn't enough time. Very slow service, maybe understaffed because it was Sunday.
Ricky's was loud and slow. The food was ok. The scallops were not worth the $34 price.
Restaurant was very loud in the outdoor dining near the Roxy's Bar with live music. They accommodated us quickly to move but if it was a busy night and you had no other option it would be very unbearable. Service was okay not the best and not the worst. The food was good though. We had eaten at Roxy's years ago and decided to try it again with a show we had scheduled within the hotel. I would rate this as just okay. The noise level gauge doesn't allow me to enter awful.
Anniversary dinner. Chef Robert from Hell's Kitchen several months ago and he had convinced my wife and to go to Roxy's and try the Wellington. My only reason for choosing this restaurant was so my wife could finally try a Wellington. After being seated, we were not served even so much as water for 20 minutes. Our service was outstanding with Stephen and Estaban, the noise level was unbearable, my wife and I made reseverations 4 weeks ago for Valentines Day, we were seated at the entrance of the door between panel doors that separate the patio from the kitchen area. Was very underwhelmed by the experience. Dining room felt very dated and Casino Reno. Menu was very uninspired and the food itself lacked luster. Not to mention it arrived cold and tasted old. Not interested in returning. Nothing to bring me back.
On a positive note, this place has a great wine list and the atmosphere is very nice. We ordered the lobster pot pie to share and it was tasty, but the potatos were not cooked completely and were very crunchy. I ordered the pork chop which looked amazing, however it was cold. Very good dry aged steaks, outstanding beef wellington, however the Roxy does cater to large loud conventioneer parties and is not the place to go for a good diner out. A re-model with more sound absorbing material would greatly improve this place.
