Wish I could give zero stars but one is as low as I can give. We own a rabbit and she wouldn't eat or go to the bathroom. Which if you know about rabbits can be life threatening. Our regular vet was unable to see our bunny So we brought her to RYE HARRISON VETERINARY. They examined her and X-rayed her. They then proceeded to tell us she had a tumor and needed surgery at a cost of 900 dollars. We went home and the next day we followed up with our primary vet. Quite simply: My parrot died here. He was singing and kissing me on the car ride over and I left with him in a box. I was given no explanation of what happened and ushered out a back door so none of the waiting patients could see me. A week and half later, I received a letter of condolence for someone else's rabbit. I would never recommend this place or bring another animal I cared about to be seen here.

I haven't been to this vet for some years, but the bad memories still haunt me! I always found the reception staff ignorant and rude. Gary Yarnell was no better. Having only recently moved to Rye, he diagnosed something in my 20 year old cat and suggested an expensive treatment ($2k+). I declined, not for the money, but for the trauma it would cause my cat and couldn't see benefits considering her age. His remark was 'I won't think any less of you' .. really? The Dr. decided my dog needed his ears cleaned and he hasn't been able to hear since. I went back two weeks later and they completely denied any mistake. They should be honest and at least apologize.

Over priced and insensitive staff. Don't go!! They suggested we put down our dog and ended up getting another opinion. So glad we did.... Our dog is thriving.

Horrible service, they never returns calls and only concerned about charging you for every visit. Vets seems to run a business rather that caring about your pets. Maybe good for urgent matters but definitely not good for your pet day to day needs.

Busy vet office as most are in this area. Search elsewhere if you can since this place will overcharge you big time. We learned that other vets are much cheaper by far so please be aware and get other prices . This place was 2 to 3 times the price of others , not good. We wanted to like this place but prices were ridiculous.

I had a terrible experience at this animals hospital. My dog was scheduled for a teeth cleaning and the removal of one tooth . I dropped my dog off in the morning and when I picked him up they had removed 7 teeth without my knowledge or approval. The Doctor decided that my dogs teeth were bad and on his own decided to remove them. It was a painful and frustrating experience. Don't take your pet here. All they care about is your money not your pet. They like to do a lot of unnecessary tests so they can charge a fortune. They told us our cat had cancer and would die within a few weeks unless we paid $2000 in tests. We went to another animal hospital who told us the cancer was a hernia and only one kidney was working.
