Receptionists are a bunch of control freaks. They lie and have you wait on the parking lot with the excuse that they have many patients in the wait room. When I finally was allowed to come in, the wait room was empty Also, the music playing feels like you are in a disco place
Business response:
Hello Linda D., Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are so sorry to hear about your disappointment with us. The essence of our values and who we are all start with patient-centric compassionate care. Our curbside service is specifically engineered to keep our staff, clients, and families safe and socially distanced. We completely understand how challenging this can be. We would also like to apologize for your concern about the music that plays while you are on hold. Unfortunately, we don't have control over this... read more
If it were possible to leave a negative amount of stars, I would. If you want your animal to survive an injury, avoid this place AT ALL COSTS. My dog was taken there by my ex husband weeks after she apparently broke her foot and it somehow became severely infected. She was extremely ill when I was able to get her back and I was very concerned that she would not live. Their protocol was illogical and exorbitantly expensive. I followed it for a week as she became weaker. I ultimately decided to take her for a second opinion an... read more

Hello Lola G., Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are so sorry to hear about your disappointment with us. The essence of our values and who we are all start with patient-centric compassionate care, and we hope you'll recall all our efforts to remain connected with you and your ex-husband. Unfortunately, your sweet pup required regular re-check visits so we could provide the care necessary for proper healing. We understand that this is not convenient and can become costly, but we do everything we can to make those ... read more
We are so disappointed in Rye Harrison Vet after a year of using them as our pet's care provider. The reception staff is incredibly unfriendly and are not at all helpful. Each time I call the hold time is long, and most recently, once finally off hold, I was hung up on before before they even said "hello". Their pharmacy has given us the wrong dosage for their heartworm preventative medicine and has charged for it and its replacement - they've still failed to refund the double charge and I am sad to say we've given up on tha... read more

Hello Lori L., Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are so sorry to hear about your disappointment with us. The essence of our values and who we are all start with best-in-class service and patient-centric compassionate care. We have attempted to reach out to you directly so that we can make things right - we value you and your pet immensely. We genuinely understand how difficult it's been for all of us to adjust to our new processes and protocols during COVID-19. Our curbside service is specifically engineered to k... read more
A few months ago my jack Russell terrier "bear" who has passed away since her last visit there of 12 years was miss diagnosed and sent home with an upset belly. Turns out she had a tumor the size of a grapefruit ..... the tumor was successfully removed by a more Professional vet but the time lapsed due to misdiagnosis from rye and my Best friend little bear passed away ... tragic for my son and myself I was also diagnosed with covid 19 ...... out of work as a New York City detective I explained the money issue to rye vet a... read more

Pasquale: We were very sorry to learn of Bear's passing, and we want to thank you for sharing your feedback about our care and giving us the opportunity to review Bear's case in detail. We understand that visiting the veterinarian with a sick pet is one of the hardest experiences anyone goes through, and your memory of that visit is understandably influenced by the amount of stress you were feeling at that time. When we reviewed our detailed medical records from your visit in January, they reflect much more than an upset bel... read more
I just felt the need to write a follow up review about this place. Over a year later, I'm still dealing with the consequences of whatever these people did to my dog. After hurting his paw last winter on a weekend, I was left with no choice but to take him there (his vet wasn't open). Before this visit he was sweet and friendly, loved going to the vet, loved going in the car, and loved meeting new people. He came out that day a different dog, who I then had to drag into my car when we needed to go some place. He for months wo... read more

We're sorry to read these updates on you and Titus. We know we've already responded to your first review, and hope that the information we provided helps you and others understand why injuries like Titus experienced need to be treated as quickly as possible in the most sterile treatment area of the hospital, not in the exam room. When Titus came in and had lacerated his paw pad on glass, it was quite painful for him, and as you mentioned, the wound was bleeding profusely. We offered sedation to be able to clean the wound and... read more

Anthony- Thank you for taking the time to speak with me on the phone today to discuss your recent call to our office. I am sorry you and your dog were faced with an emergency this past weekend. As I mentioned when we spoke, the advice you were given to take your pet to an emergency hospital was because we felt that you pet would be better served so close to our closing by a team that is open 24 hours and would be able to monitor your pet into the night if needed. I apologize if the message conveyed to you was that we don't c... read more
First time I went they ran a test on my dog (who had diarrhea and severe itching) that cost me $75 (never told me they were running it, then filled a prescription for medication where they charged me $4.10 a pill). Told me my dog needed to be on the medication for the rest of her life. Spent $65 for a month's supply of pills that turned out I could have purchased for $27.75 at Costco. Of greater concern is that the medicine didn't work and my dog now has itching that is worse than ever. $178 later (unnecessary tests, medicin... read more

Hi Jesse - We are so sorry that you experienced frustration with your and Sadie's recent visit to our practice. In reviewing your concerns, we want to first apologize for the error made by our pharmacy staff when they prepared the actual medication and not just the prescription you requested. That truly was an oversight and we understand your feelings about costs. Since we are a single private practice, we are rarely able to meet pricing from large companies such as Costco, but when we receive special pricing from drug manuf... read more
The vet seemed polite and professional. However, there's an emphasis on testing, some of which are not necessary. An explanation should be given about each test they propose along with the cost. I was presented with a bill for $700 after my card was inserted for processing and I questioned what I was being charged for. One test for feline leukemia on both cats was not explained by use of an acronym so that I had no idea what the test involved but agreed on faith. But, the cats are 9 years old, stay indoors and the need ... read more

Hi John- First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to speak with us on the phone regarding your visit and to accept our sincere apologies. You brought Smokey and Oreo to us in hopes of collaborating on the best course of action to feel better and left understandably frustrated with your experience. Under normal circumstances, our doctors provide and discuss best care recommendations and associated costs, then agree with the pet parent on a treatment plan, perform the agreed upon services, and communicate results prom... read more
STAY AWAY. Rude and disorganized. Utterly unprofessional and discourteous. Made an appointment for grooming online and received a verbal confirmation over the phone. Showed up for the appointment only to be told they couldn't see my dog today and had no record of the appointment. The office staff is entirely uncommunicative and unhelpful. Lost my business forever.
Business response:
Hi Christopher. I was sorry to learn that there was a problem with the scheduled grooming appointment at our hospital. I can certainly understand your frustration at arriving at our facility and then being told that there was no record of the appointment. Please understand that the receptionist that made the appointment was a new trainee and she in fact did make an error. To insure that similar situations do not arise in the future, I have requested our reception staff to immediately escalate this to our hospital manager. A... read more
