I was their with my boyfriend for dinner, we were sat in the corner I think it was the worst table in the place, we waited far to long for our drinks the baked potato is over cooked, i guess it must have been left overs from the day before. The waiter must have been new, he was moving far to slow and we were never given the water we asked for
We were excited by the menu, but we weren't seated at our reservation time, drinks took 20 minutes, duo dips were a cheese ball and 3 ingredient avocado, duck fat fries were fair, our two filet mignons were served cold on the inside. We didn't enjoy our meal.
First off, the service from the hostess to the server was absolutely top notch without being overbearing or interrupting at all. Atmosphere is decent and expected of this type of steakhouse. I've been to this location many times in past years along with the one in Banff. This particular evening, I have to say, the food has gone downhill. Would not recommend Food was ok, apple tart dessert was very good, but steaks were not cooked to order (asked for well got it bloody and red), steak had little flavour (needed more seasoning), mushrooms were soggy. Service was very poor - rushed, cold, inattentive, made to feel like we were bothering the wait staff, had several servers rushing around grabbing things, refusing to make eye contact or talk with us. Ordered their top of line reserve steak Med Rare - it came to the table very rare the waiter didnt come back to the table until I was half way through my steak -- even though I tried to get his attention - His knowledge of wine was very basic. For such an upscale location and pricing, I would expect much more Not recommended
Four of us dined at Saltlik. Two steaks were sent back to the kitchen because of poorly cooked meat. It was disappointing. The vegetables were so over salted they were inedible. they did adjust the bill.
I chose Saltlik as I've been there before and found the food, service and atmosphere to be exceptional. I decided to take my boyfriend there for an anniversary as he has never been and was very disappointed. For the price of our meal and drinks, the service was very poor. Took our waitress a while to come to our table and the basic customer service skills our waitress had was lacking (no "how are you", "how's your night", "celebrating anything special").
